Natalia was born in St. Petersburg in 1981. At age 16 she began to paint, convinced that this will be a matter of her life. Later, she studied design at the St. Petersburg Marine Technical University and the Art and Industrial Academy. Stieglitz. A member of the joint (School barbaric analytism).
C 1998, Natalia was actively engaged in the workshop of the founder of this school AV Kondratyev *.

In her works celebrate an amazing sensitivity to color, texture, delicate sensibility, giving the plane of breath, and picture of personality. Artist Natalia Vasilyeva, until recently, lived in Russia in St. Petersburg. Now living in Spain. At home in artistic terms, it was brought up in the traditions of Russian avant-garde early XX century, reports, despite all the twists and turns, up to date. One of the features of this tradition - a constructive creative thinking. Under the top layer of the picture, there are power lines, diagonals, interpenetrating and docked forms - structural framework, the foundation on which the composition of the painting is constructed. Infiltrating a plot layer, discovering these lines, the viewer is able to penetrate much deeper into the design of the artist, the decision as a beautiful picture of the structure. Especially interesting to note that in the art of XX century the constructiveness, rationality, logic coldness can live together with the expression of the immediate impressions of nature, vitality and shimmering colors. And not just coexist and supplement, but one without the other.

These traits have both presented at the exhibition of work. Reliance on the plane of the line design gives the compositions of the quality of monumentality. Sophisticated color ratio of the volumes, pulsating against each other the individual strokes of adjacent colors, making the work in the inner restlessness and movement. These strokes give each individual character of the film texture of the paint layer, which is so difficult to convey in the photographs and also hard not to notice the direct examination.
The exhibition includes landscapes, still lifes and portraits, made by Natalia in recent years. They show the artist's remarkable colorist and master a wide range of genres.

I must say that our meeting with Natalia was not very long - I was in a hurry for the train, dusk outside the window, and, unfortunately, many works have been for various reasons, unavailable for viewing. Nevertheless, the overall impression still managed to make: the first, and perhaps most importantly, Natalie, if I may say so, "fakturist" from God. Her paintings have to be sure to watch live. Otherwise it is impossible to experience the pleasure that you get from getting close to these rough, muted of color things, like cracked or peeled mercilessly.

Natalia is sometimes mixed into the paint like sand, the result - such wonderful work, as a small but significantly significant "Beach of Valencia" (Natalia for a long time lived in Spain but the Spanish winter frost (yes do not laugh - it is not a trifle, and not fiction !) drove her to St. Petersburg, where the mighty iron batteries are more reliable wide-open to all winds foci).

There (in the picture) scattering of brownish on the storms and scorching heat umbrellas, painted thick strokes swollen, close to scratching the paint layers of sandy beach, barely large to fit on a rough vertical lap.

In the graph it technique is, of course, gouache. Dried streaks of paint, rough brush strokes - all its element, it is like a fish in water.

Like her paintings, Natalia complex man, but also very interesting. As in her painting in her fight urge to light, color, ink saturation (this is Spain, in which the artist obviously in love) with the desire to go into the shadows, to merge with overcast spaces, stuffed garages, rusty pillars of power, peeling fences (this is St. Petersburg, that it was inspired) ... Where in all this is hard to say the truth, because Natalia sincere and eager to be here and there. But here's what will win - sooner or later tell her art.
