Fighting, destruction of the exhibits, the nationalists, censorship ... cheerfully

President of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Serhiy Kvit called "crap" exhibition "Ukrainian body."

February 10, he ordered the closure of the exhibition, which opened two days ago at the Center for Visual Culture (CEC).

Friday morning Kvit came to see the exhibition. After viewing took the key and closed the room. "This is not an exhibition, but shit," - he said later.
Center for Visual Culture, which is located in the Mogilyanki, immediately accused the leadership of censorship. "As a result of such actions, which we regard as unacceptable act of censorship, in the space of public debate focused displaced a whole range of important social and political issues, with the exception of critical review," - said in a statement Fairgrounds.
In response to President Mogilyanki not stay. That same evening, denied the charges on his page on Facebook. "Exhibition" Ukrainian body "is a statement of law on pornography:" my right - my porn ", and also offers a set of fragmented pornographic images. In my opinion, this goal can not be implemented at the university, which, moreover, learn to minors , "- wrote quits. The same day the CEC announced the collection of signatures, "in protest against artistic censorship in the walls of NaUKMA."
"In Ukraine, the label" porn "is increasingly used by the authorities in order to close someone's mouth, and it is becoming increasingly evident. However, physicality taboo in today's society is more profound problem. For the purpose of" public morality "that prohibits talk of the body or the show - is, as for me, the silence before the pain and suffering, although it is not so obvious. These aspects were problematizovano at the exhibition "Ukrainian body," - said the activist Gazeta.ua Nazary Sovsun Fairgrounds.
Works for the exhibition gave 18 Ukrainian artists. But the curators were Bryukhovetskaya Oksana and Sergei Klimko and Les Kulchitskaya.
