Harry Chase, "The Baltic" - Russia's score?

Вложений: 4
Good afternoon.

There is a picture - sketch Harry Chase, 1874 . Last year's price for it in America - around 3500-4500 dollars for a comparable size (37 by 44 cm). There was a thought (perhaps incorrectly ) that lead the Baltic - it is still more St. Petersburg's topic and not sell it there in Russia. Interested in the views it realistic to get a picture of , say, $ 3,000 in the foreseeable future ?

Thank you.

It is difficult, of course ...
Perhaps a bit will have to be pushed with an estimate after all ...

Suggest a serious auction houses - may be interested in some.

The Baltic Sea washes and even the Scandinavian countries, Finland, Germany, Poland, the Baltic countries.

Russia is not really such a great extent the Baltic Sea.

Thank you. The Russian auction houses are not interested , but rather direct sales. I sell antique at DPI - Russian exhibitions, but art does not drive a price so the demand side is weakly present .

What, in your opinion, bar pretty quick sale ?

Thank you for geographical reference. I choose between selling to Russia and the sale in America (which is not washed by the Baltic Sea , if I remember correctly ).

Is there any opinion on the assessment?

I'm just surprised , having read that " Lead Baltic - it is still more St. Petersburg's theme " .

And you have all the same - " price for it in America - around 3500-4500 dollars " .
I do not think that in Russia for the marina 37 to 44 cm west of the author give you that kind of money .

American artists, to be honest, do not use we demand.

Well, I estimated it at 1.5 thousand dollars.
Then what?

Redeem on such money, I is not ready, and the buyer should look likely.

OK, thank you for a specific answer, not a blizzard in the desert.

Although in principle a good job, and the collector-scapes, perhaps, would have given more ...

collector - scapes

No would not give . The collector is likely to know the price of this artist : 1500 - 3000 $ 2011 at auction . True happened before , and more, but after a crisis like this.
Buy can the average person in the interior and the price for this completely , but preferably slightly larger size of 50 x 70 cm, for example . And in this case, size is more important than price " + " "-" $ 500.

One of the links infa for subscribers , subscription is free, but that you do not work , I would say that $ 3300 with coppers , including buyer's premium.
Previously, as happened many times less at Christie's in 1990, any year at all for 60 pounds or something gone. But now, after a crisis like this.
