Good afternoon.
I wish that you would appreciate a picture online.

Artist gustav schwarz, painting with his signature.
Year of writing about paintings 1840-1860.

The same artist hangs in the Tretyakov Gallery.

Dear, truzhennik!

To answer these questions neodhodimo specify the dimensions of work and technique.

Are you sure this is not a reproduction?

Your photo put it mildly, not informative ...

Sizes 60x40 scope, are unlikely to reproduction tk my grandfather was a very high rank in the world 2, they took out machines from Germany and other cities in the picture and TE I especially do not understand what a painting, but it seems watercolor.
On the right bottom corner of the signature G.schwarz

My advice - get a clearer picture in daylight, preferably with a close-up.

1. A Is this Gustav Schwartz ?
2. Even if it's one you should look for the price of his stuff on the international market, because the artist was in the service of Nicholas I's only 10 years ( 1840-50 gg.) And as a court battle- represented all the maneuvers , which involved Emperor and all his works are mostly in museums and in the West his stuff on the market is, I think.
While at Sotheby's sale , I saw his " regimental maneuvers in the Red Village

Clearer picture

It seems that this is watercolor, and of course this is not the Gustav Schwartz that "hangs in the Tretyakov Gallery."

John Preston 12.01.2012 09:58

Yes, apparently watercolor.
But, in my opinion, it is - another Schwartz.

Surname in Germany in general is very popular, as we Ivanov or Petrov.

Let's wait for the views of other members of the forum.
