Pictures Putin and Matvienko will sell at auction
Charity Auction, which will be sold paintings, created by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin of Russia, St. Petersburg Governor Valentina Matvienko and other famous people in the Christmas Fair, held on 17 January in St. Petersburg.
Christmas Fair in St. Petersburg is one of the biggest events in a series of New Year celebrations city. It is traditionally held a charity action "ABC", in which famous people with the help of a professional artist paint pictures on the letters of the Russian alphabet.
This year's charity event was dedicated to 200 anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Gogol. Every day on the main stage fairs famous people painted illustrations for the letters of the Russian alphabet on a story by Gogol's "The Night Before Christmas". In Gogol's works were related not only to the theme of paintings, but also material, which drew celebrities - cloakroom cloth.
In late December, Putin visited the St. Petersburg Christmas market, where a picture of the letter "Y" - the pattern on the frosted window. The governor of the northern capital this year took part in the rally for the third time, drawing a "blizzard". Also his paintings at the fair created an opera singer Anna Netrebko, ballerina Uliana Lopatkina, musician Maxim Shostakovich.
All proceeds from the sale of works of celebrities, will be transferred to the accounts of socially important institutions in the city in dire need of financial support. It is planned that this year the funds will go to the opening of a specialized cabinet diagnosis of cancer and children's hospital of St. Mary Magdalene.
