In belonging to a private collector Moscow Museum experts have found icons XVI and XVII centuries, which in 1984 had been stolen from Velikoustyuzhskogo State Historical-Architectural Museum-Reserve. The announcement of this appeared on the official website of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation (GUUR), the Interior Ministry.

Icons of the museum staff have identified and seized the Vologda region. Now with icons conduct an examination at the State Scientific Research Institute of the restoration.

It is reported that in 1984 for theft of icons was prosecuted, but then neither they nor the offender could not find. In October of this year, the staff GUUR appeared that the missing icons were on display at the museum site, which eventually found them.

The site is not indicated the Interior Ministry or the name of the museum or collector's name. Currently, employees are being sought criminals criminal investigation.

10 stolen icons XVI and XVII centuries are rare specimens of the northern school of icon painting. Approximate cost of the auction is 50 million rubles.
