Exhibition of "Motherhood" is dedicated to the two holidays, Christmas, Catholic and Orthodox. The exhibition gathered paintings, drawings and sculptures depicting mother and child, another name for the exhibition - "Mother and Child." In the works of different periods - from Byzantine icons, paintings, Italian Renaissance, an academic of Russian painting to avant-garde sculpture, painting - nonconformists and contemporary art - submitted a microcosm, which unites mother and her child, the atmosphere of tenderness, love, anxiety and emotion. Image of mother and child in almost all the works passed through the timeless image of the Virgin, Madonna.
The exhibition includes paintings, drawings and sculptures depicting mother and child from the collection of the gallery "Konoser", Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMSI), and private collections in Russia and Europe.
From the private collection of Italian paintings in the exhibition are the Italian Renaissance - the artist's early Venetian school of Giovanni di Francia, "Madonna and Child, and the donor of, between the angels" (1st Quarter HVv.), A representative of the Florentine school of the beginning of the fifteenth century. Ventura di Moro "Madonna with Child" and "The Holy Family with John the Baptist," a student of Raphael in the sixteenth century., As well as wood sculpture, bas-relief of "Madonna with Child", the beginning of the twentieth century, iconographically close to "Our Lady of Kazan."
German Private Collection introduced us to "Madonna and Child in a box," the Florentine school of the fifteenth century. "Madonna and Child with John the Baptist," the Flemish School of the sixteenth century.
 From private collections in Moscow at the exhibition includes rare icons of the Byzantine school early fifteenth century, the Moscow School of the XVIII century, as well as icon "Mlekopitatelnitsa," written in the style of "modern".
Gallery «Paul Noujaim» Paris brought two paintings by Russian artists of the 2nd School of Paris - "The Virgin and Child" by Edward Zelenin, since 1970. and "Gypsy with a child," Serge Kisliakof late 1930s.
Moscow Museum of Modern Art gave an exhibition of Russian avant-garde artists of the twentieth century-Korsakov and Alexandra, Vladimir Chernetsova representatives of the avant-garde 30's - 40's, Marianne Romanov - the artist - nonconformist Sixties and Nikolai Mukhin, a representative of the religious direction of contemporary art.
