Press release

The exhibition is very pleasant, there is something to see. An interesting snapshot of the "American Girl in Italy": so much emotion in people around the girl, as if shot from a film where the actors a bit overplayed, or is it just the Italian way of communicating (I wonder if staging a frame or not).

Tamila, thanks for a good story !

As far as black and white photograph of fun color ! Any of the B /W images to present in color - and it will lose more than half its charm. At the risk of fall under the barrage of criticism , but I think that if the color and its possibilities for the author is not an end in itself , any shot that b /w version has effects often almost epic in color - is representative of realism, and his entire epic loses . That's why I can not watch our old movies in a painted form. Eeriness . Thanks again , Tamila, for this beauty.

I agree with it, in black and white photography more emphasis on form, composition, chiaroscuro , etc. , in the color photos are a little different , but they all have their charms.

I can give you an opposite example : Luc Besson film "Angel A" black and white and filmed in Paris. If the film was colored , then many things would just distract from the fact, but in black /white accented words , dialogue , images as wallpaper. Really enjoyed the film .

interesting staging frame or not

As if so, think so, but Ms. Orkin specially those young Italians pose did not make:

Ruth Orkin was in Florence in the early 1950s, where she met Jinx Allen, and asked her to be a model for a photo in The Herald Tribune. The picture "American Girl in Italy, Florence, 1951" was coined by accident when Ruth spotted the Italians, and looked at Jinks, walking along the street. Ruth asked Jinks to walk again, the result was the same - young people did not take his eyes off the beautiful Allen. This results in a frame. Yes, it was not spontaneous, but on the other hand it is undeniable that it did not reflect reality.
