Hugo Vilgelmovich Schauffler was born in 1928 Marksshtadt (Republic of Volga Germans).

In 1954 he graduated from the Architectural Department of Civil Engineering Faculty of the Ural Polytechnic Institute. SM Kirov.
From 1958 he worked in the design institutes Sverdlovsk architect, and later - the main architect of projects, the head of the architectural and planning team.
Since 1961 - assistant professor, then - professor, department head of architecture UPI. In Moscow, he defended his thesis, then - the doctor's.
Since 1977 - head of the department typology residential institution KrymNIIproekt.
Since 1987 - director of the integrated design studio "KPM-Crimea".
In 1998 he moved permanently to Germany. By tradition, every summer arrives in the Crimea, to write new works. He currently lives in Bad Fridrihshalle.

In 1970 he was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labor".
In 1991, Hugo Schauffler was the first winner of the award named after academician Peter Pallas - for his contribution to German culture in the Crimea.

Hugo Vilgelmovich, a member of the Russian Union of Architects and a member of Artists Union of Ukraine and Crimea, a member of the Academy of the Russian Germans, Crimean doctor of architecture, award-winning USSR Council of Ministers.

On his account 40 completed projects in the Urals, western Siberia, the Crimea, more than 100 scientific papers in the area arhitektury.Za long creative life was held by Hugo Vilgelmovich over 40 (!) Personal art exhibitions in Russia, Germany, Bulgaria and the Crimea.

Energy and diversity of the interests of the white-haired man tightened may well envy the young. It was no joke: the eighty-three years he successfully runs, winning with a sketchbook vast distances and mountains! And in between the hours of creativity and hiking trips take more serious, like the insatiable shuttle shuttles between the German city of Bad Fridrihshalle, which now inhabits, Yekaterinburg, where was held as a professional, and the Crimea, where the maestro gave more than twenty years of life. And not just cruising, and delighting fans painting exhibition of watercolors, which over the years captured the gray Urals, beauty Tauris, different parts of Germany and other European countries. Architect, artist and social activist - so eventful and multifaceted way would be enough not a single life. Nevertheless, Schauffler had time to create and to rejoice the world around them, do not forget old friends and make new. This is all the more surprising, the way Hugo Vilgelmovich not be called easy, because often he did not act according to circumstances, but despite them.

Achieve this, architect, graphic artist, painter, teacher, were the result, of course, God's gift of an outstanding talent, but also of personal will, resilience of nature. At first glance, his work is purely objectivist. Accurate view of the architect can do urban landscapes, like those that were created in the genre are. Schauffler feature artistic talent makes it necessary for him not so much a search for the exotic, theatrical showiness as uzrevat festivity in the simplest pictures of the world and infect the audience with his enthusiasm to the "modest" masterpieces of nature and human talent.

The viewer is given to treat them with a sense of ecstatic contemplation of bewilderment, as if the picture of the world turned out to be observed by him here and now. But!
