Personally, I agree with you completely disagree . It's autumn auction , which presented important work. Therefore, they are less than in conventional auctions (just pass the evening auction of Impressionist , where smaller pictures , but they are better).
Quality of work is very high. This is the best collection of Russian department at Sotheby's last few years. Only the names are - Goncharova , Larionov , Feshin , Vereshchagin , Konchalovsky, Lentulov , Repin , Shishkin , Yakovlev , Roerich, Annenkov, Kustodiev, Shukhaiev . And the size ? Especially Vereshchagin (395 x 500 cm ) , Feshin ( 185 x 282 cm ) and Lentulov (101 x 172 cm) .
Prices must be high , especially for such quality work , otherwise the Russian art market as such will not be. |
