In the Czech Republic re-released Bible with illustrations by Salvador Dali. According to The Prague Daily Monitor, a copy of the edition, which goes on sale Sept. 29, costs 77 000 CZK (4.2 thousand dollars).

The first copies of the Bible, weighing 12 kilograms will be Czech President Vaclav Klaus and the Czech head of the Catholic Church, Archbishop of Prague Dominik Duka. Circulation 900-page Bible texts from the Old and New Testaments in Czech translation in 2009 amounted to 444 copies.

The Bible was published in the publishing group Euromedia, who the year before produced hand-made gilded Bible c fax inserts medieval miniatures. According to the publication, then the Bible was sold in one day.

The first edition of the Bible with illustrations by Spanish artist dates from 1967 year: it was published in Italy in five volumes. Bible in a white leather-bound copy was presented with the Pope. Illustrations Daly ordered his friend and collector Giuseppe Albaretto.

Later, the Bible, illustrated by Dali, was published in Germany. Czech Bible with 105 illustrations by the artist will also be available in Slovakia.

Currently, lithography Dali Biblia Sacra series of exhibits at the Novosibirsk State Museum of Local Lore. The exhibition "Salvador Dali. Holy message" opens September 15 and runs until October 30.
