Boris Efimovich Efimov (real name Friedland) was born September 28, 1900 in Kiev. Already 5 years old he began to draw. Later enrolled in a vocational school, where he learned his brother Michael. Together they published a manuscript school magazine.

In 1918, in Kiev magazine "The Spectator" appeared first cartoons Boris Efimov on the block. A year later he became one of the secretaries of the publishing department of the People's Commissariat for Military Affairs of the Soviet Ukraine.

Since 1922 the artist moved to Moscow, where he cooperated with the newspaper "Pravda" and "News", the magazine "Crocodile", and since 1929 the magazine "Offbeat".

In the years 1966-1990 Efimov Managing Editor creative-production association "Agitplakat." Active participation in all political campaigns of the Soviet regime.

In 2006, Boris Yefimov, participated in the preparation of the publication of the book "Autographed Century." The winner of the USSR State Prize, awarded four orders and medals. September 28, 2007, at his 107th birthday, he was appointed chief artist of the newspaper "Izvestia".
