This is an illustration of the Bible from the drawings of Alexander Bida (Alexandre Bida, 1813-1895), French painter of romantic period. He studied with Eugène Delacroix , specializing in Oriental theme and created his own style . In his youth, Bida traveled and worked in Egypt, Greece , Turkey, Lebanon and Palestine. He became well known for its exhibitions in the period between 1847 and 1861 GG He was also the illustrator of the Bible and the Gospel ( 1873). He died in Germany in 1895 at age 82 .
