Discovered under the plaster painting on wood ~ 18 century. Renew or rewrite?
 

In a private apartment in an old house , the repair took off the plaster from the ceiling . The room and hallway . Obduli air . Found a painting on wood .
The customer wants to restore it.
My thoughts on this subject ..
Refurbish or restore the lost art pieces and coat acrylic lacquer ?
But beautiful it is and how to live with such a ceiling ?
Or completely restore and paint a tree and write new colors ? In this case, an old painting would be lost . but it will look more careful ?

With all the love for the painted wooden ceilings and wooden sculpture, this (pictured) painted over and would have ordered a beautiful painting, if there is such a desire.
She will make new work and communal art, pleasing to the interior.

The painting is preserved under the plaster.
May persist and, again, if you put such a problem - simply close again and decorate to your liking in the next "cultural layer".

I also thought that it makes no sense for this to stand in an attitude of " bridge " from the ceiling .
There is no particular plot , just an ornament.
