Dominican Republic: the exhibition "Russian Avant-Garde," the beginning of XX century
The Museum of Modern Art (ISI) in Santo Domingo this week opened an exhibition "Russian Avant-Garde", dedicated to the ten most influential artists of Russia at the beginning of XX century, among them avant-garde Lazar Lissitzky and Aleksandr Rodchenko. For the exhibition were selected pictures painted Russian painters in the period from 1901 to 1915, a project supervised by the president of the National Council of Fine Arts of Cuba, Ruben del Valle (Ruben del Valle). This is a real feast for lovers of Russian art: paintings by Gustav Klucis, Valentina Kulagina, Varvara Stepanova, Lyubov Popova, Nathan Altman, Vladimir Roskin, Boris Ignatovich and Solomon Telingater adequately represent the avant-garde during the Russia of the last century.
The twentieth century in Russian fine art - a century of the triumph of revolutionary ideas in art and art experiments with new technologies and materials. Collages, photography and photomontage, posters and design - Russian avant-garde early twentieth century became a powerful modern art movement. In the works of artists "intruded" streets, houses and various transportation, clothing .. every inch of surrounding space, where there is life, reflected in the paintings of the avant-garde. The exhibition "Russian Avant-Garde" is the result of an agreement between the Government of Valencia, the Valencia Institute of Modern Art, the ISI and the General Directorate of the local book fair. buenolatina ru |
