Marble Palace, State Russian Museum opened a retrospective exhibition " Alexander Tikhomirov. Painting . Graphics " , dedicated to the 95 th anniversary of the master . The exhibition includes about 50 works of all periods of the artist - from realism to neo-classicism , reflecting the diversity of talent , wealth shaped the world and the breadth of stylistic range of his work .

In 1949-1976 AD Tikhomirov worked in Moscow combine monumental and decorative art ( KMDI ) to create portraits of Lenin and the party leaders for a festive decoration of buildings and streets of Moscow. In the history of official Soviet art 1950 - 70 's he became an author Leniniana and very large portrait of Lenin in the world (42 x 22 m ) .
