Exhibition of works by renowned sculptor and academician of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts, Life Guards, Colonel Nikolai Ivanovich Liberiha (1828-1883) brings together two unique private collection - 39 bronze sculptures from the collection of Alexei Yegorov and 22 of the author's drawings from the collection of Constantine Zhuromsky, today the only known collection of graphic works sculptor.
Life and Works of the XIX century Russian sculptor Nikolai Ivanovich Liberiha never been the subject of special studies. Never it does not look at individual shows. Meanwhile, Nikolai Liberia - an outstanding figure in the history of Russian art. Man versatile educated, he first half of his life devoted to military service, while engaging in self-modeling and drawing. And just a couple of years after completing his military career Lifeguards Colonel NI Liberia became an academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts. Very famous and very popular in both military and among the artists during their lifetime, NI Liberia over the past hundred years has been almost forgotten.
