This is the first of my notes with photos from today's San Francisco.
MOMA San Francisco - this is a relatively small building in downtown. Now half of the museum is closed on the renewal of the exhibition-open in March, half open, so the ticket price-polovinnaya7-50.
Two large exhibition Wine and Design, as well as the famous Expose-of voyeurism, voyeuristic, tracking. People very much, the lighting poor, mostly photos and video are not attracted me.
Here are photos of what memories on the other floors,
1. A reclining figure from the metal to the next with MOMA building.
2-3. Around the bridge between the floors installed sound installation with rotating white screens, they are sound transducers, and therefore the overall sound picture is very dynamic, EM all flies and spinning.
4-6. Modern approach. This five-meter smoke, in fact, the tapestry. The artist treated the photo on your computer, sent to Belgium, where once again developed a file for weaving machines and the tapestry is ready, it looks great.
7-9. Wooden sculpture of plywood in the spirit of Picasso. There are many already seen, look all the same compact and nice.

1 5.Esche a modern approach, different visual garbage-print photos, magazine clippings, beads located on the board and above it on the long pin-obtained three-dimensional saturated layer.
Also 6.5 meters long.

6-8.
Painting.
Liked it.
2 meters tall.

1 3.Esche painting. From the label that the museum always buys the work, not just American authors and puts the purchase on public display.
4-7. This brilliant composition made of piano strings. But it is not easy, but each string is enclosed in glass beads, m e is everything - large glass beads.

cafe, roof garden and a museum shop occupy somewhere one-third of the museum, on it and America. The cafe and the garden is a sculpture, too, with great attention to the physical material.
There are two shops-one shop artists, where you can buy prints, small plastic from the artists themselves. In the museum shop at a reasonable price you can buy prints of most famous works. For example where a 60x40 cm-35 U.S. - paper glued to cardboard.

Well, I can not visit SF and did not see the paintings Figurative Movement - EM Richard Dibenkorna, David Park, Bruce MakGau, Joan Brown, Paul Waner. Yesterday was a dinner with friends, and I recommend the Museum in Oakland, there I am in the morning and went. High-speed subway delivers anywhere in 5-10 minutes. I forgot my camera, alas, can still visit them. All the artists but there on the spot. Best, for me, and Dibenkorn Park. Paintings from Auckland, are known and everything is on the network.
Back in the museum I found interesting exhibit two-myself art-museum is a table with a touch screen, draw what you want, click OK and your picture is already on the museum wall in a frame. At the same time a picture is sent to you by mail. Checked yes, here it is :-)
Second-Chinese gathering large stones from different historical places of California, then made their metallic shiny copy. Exposed and stones, and copy. Very strange impression-stone-symbol of eternity, EM copies of eternity?

Continuing the theme of Dibenkorna. As I have said in San Francisco most of his work, I have not seen a gallery owner suggested-like in such a gallery is. Gone, but hang guashki ugly, and oil is one thing, but somewhere much stashed away. Picture and the price I was sent to the address at the written request. Here it is, available for purchase somewhere 130h100. I also sent the price, a lot of zeros. Since the price is confidential, will let you know if someone should suddenly, in a personal. The painting, of course, good, like almost everything about this artist.
Generally, the attitude towards Russian visitors has changed. If in the early 90's seen as a cosmonaut Gagarin and warmly embraced, and then began to treat both come in large numbers, here ... now treated as Russian as a billionaire, EM Russian is a lot of money.

And some American paintings in Russian museums are still in the afternoon with fire you will not find :(

(Excluding, of course, loyal to the Soviet Union Rockwell Kent)

IV, as it turns out, in the U.S. a similar problem. Sitting in Moscow, it seems that American museums are packed with Pollock, Motherwell, Klein, Rauschenberg, etc. In fact, it is not. Even in major museums, such as Oakland, the New York School is completely absent, no such work! can not afford to buy, they are worth many millions, and give no presents.

The first Tuesday of each month at the SF MOMA free entrance, crowded, but without the crowds. You can meet lots of friends, many arrive just in time to visit the museum free day. Also opened the main exposition, which begins with Matisse and Braque.
Why with Matisse? The fact that the U.S. Modern Art does not mean modern art. Modern is somewhere between 1905 and 1970. Next comes the really contemporary art, which is termed Contemporary.
1-6. Georges Braque. Image 5 must be on site 1 - this is a shortcut to.
2-3. Oil and sand on canvas. As Picasso, Braque experimented with sand. (Or as Picasso and Marriage)
7-8. Picasso, 1955, from the cycle of Algerian women, a little work.
9-10. Matisse.

1-2.
Max Beckmann, a German expressionist.
Great job.

3-6.
Museum workers put the next two bouquet of Matisse and slides to show the influence of French painting in the U.S..

7.
Masden Hartley.

9.
Morandi.
A small thing like a very quite simply written.
