Portrait of Mao Zedong's works of Andy Warhol, who was a collection of actor Dennis Hopper, sold at Christie's auction for 302.5 thousand dollars. Estimated cost of the painting was only 30 thousand dollars.

This portrait of Warhol completed in 1972, has made a 250 copies. Hopper is in the collection work is number 144 and is notable because in it two bullet holes. According to Christie's, shortly after the acquisition of paintings Hopper twice shot her, taking the image of Chinese leader for his own.

Andy Warhol enthusiastically responded to this incident and even swept the two holes and signed them: "warning shot" and "bullet hole". Establish the exact - I bought a portrait of an investment banker Ahmad Khan, who called it "historic."

Also one of the top lots of the auction was a portrait of Marilyn Monroe, Warhol's work. It was sold for 206.5 thousand dollars. The bulk of the collection of Hopper, composed about 200 works, was sold in November 2010 for a total 12.8 million dollars. The most expensive painting was the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat, sold for 5.8 million dollars.
