I hope I learn that the artist.
Size 70-100

Judging by the signature, this is such a cursive style in the Arbat, just west.

Author's name you will have little effect, I think.

Rather, the eastern and modern, "made in China". This is supported by the fact that the signature does not constitute a family and, generally involving a set of Latin letters. I think that this - a free interpretation of the form the port of Rotterdam 1920. Taken or the most famous portrayer of this topic Evert Moll (Evert Moll, 1878-1955), or with any of his contemporaries of lesser-known Dutch artists (Willem Bos, etc.). Similar species of this type in the network (meaning oil painting) - hundreds of them.

Well, have the same, comrade.
Amateur, I'm guessing simply a signature, because our contractor was not initially posted reproduction.

Dear Igor and Sasha Amateur, you have a misconception that the painting is modern and''made in China ". This oil on canvas, trophy WWII. I enclose photos of better quality.

Игорь Гурьев 18-12-2010 21:15

Be that as it may, these paintings innumerable, are cheap.

Maxim, your work probably depicts the port of Hamburg.

Art Direction: Alfred JENSEN (1859-1935).

Examples of his work:

sergejnowo is absolutely right, it is - a German marine painter of Danish origin, Alfred Jensen (Alfred Jensen, 1859 - 1935). Around 1900, he became professor of painting in Hamburg, since "attached" to his signature reduction "Prof." He was very prolific. Brief biography of Alfred Jensen, refer to http://www.mehlis.eu/archiv/55-auktion/objekte/0015056
Prices for his work can be viewed in

If you are told from the outset, but would have posted photos of good quality, it would facilitate the search and would not cause confusion.

By the way, tov.Amateur,
I have no confidence that this is the artist.

Well this is it for signature. Signed with him, however, very disorderly. In the early works she has more or less legible, but he became "pro", since - as a chicken claw. After all, terribly prolific was in a hurry, perhaps, to begin immediately for the next picture - "strike while the iron on the spot" :) "- here it was once the signature calligraphic display. And the price of his work because of their large number and uniformity of subjects is not huge, so fake it makes little sense.

By the way, I quoted the page findartinfo our Alfred Jensen lumped together with another by Alfred Jensen (1903 - 1981) - the famous American abstract artists, the price of which for a couple of orders of magnitude higher.
