Moscow International Festival of Naive Art
and Outsider Art "FESTNAIV-2010"
In contemporary art can have different attitudes to the creation of marginal, but one thing is certain: the third Moscow International Festival of Naive Art, and Outsider Art "Festnaiv-2010" - is an extraordinary event in Russia in XXI century. His inspired and organized by the Moscow Museum of Naive Art. Unlike previous festivals, which took place in Moscow in 2004, 2007, the present - changed his program and theme. The exposition has expanded its scope and has become composed of two sections.
The first - "Country of the USSR" - is a retrospective collection of naive art from 1920 to 1991. Here you can see the works of the classics, such as M. Primachenko, Nikiforov, E. Volkova, M. Zasinets, Selivanov, M. Bichyunene, P. Leonov. It is their work for its artistic originality, and persuaded the Soviet society in the value of this creative phenomenon (more than 80 works of painting, graphics).
The second - "Ecology and Culture" - the main section of the exhibition brought together into a single artistic space of works by contemporary artists and naive outsiders from nine countries: Armenia, Belarus, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Russia, Estonia, Ukraine and Uruguay. The stated theme of this section has enabled the authors to tell about the beauty and fragility of the world, about the spiritual basis that can save this living matter (more than 400 works of painting, drawing, sculpture - 150 authors).
At the festival presents works from the State Russian House of Folk Art, Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve, as well as cultural institutions of the 30 regions of Russia, CIS (5) and private collections (7).
Opening the festival will be held on December 16 this year 16 o'clock in the architectural complex "commissariat stores" of the Museum Association "Moscow City Museum". Show the exhibition in Moscow will end January 16, 2011
Then the exhibition "Festnaiv-2010" will be exhibited at Ulyanovsk museum of folk art, Vologda State Museum-Reserve, ending May 29, 2011 in the Pskov museum-reserve.
As part of the festival on 16 and 17 Dec. from 10 hours a scientific conference, which participants will be art historians, museum staff, collectors, curators of the exhibition projects from different countries. They will discuss issues and trends of modern museum policy in marginal art.
3rd Moscow International Festival "Festnaiv-2010" will be accompanied by a catalog of the exhibition and conference materials.
