2009-11-16 /Svetlana Hohriakova
PREMIERE
The Museum of the German city of Wiesbaden the premiere of the film Stella Tinbergen «Marianne von Werefkin, ich lebe nur durch das Auge». He said of Marianne Verevkina. Verevkina - a native of Tula, the daughter of the commandant of the fortress, and later - the famous Russian artist in Europe, which has become one of the organizers of the artistic association "Blue Rider". Her name is one of the streets in Munich, her posters adorn virtually all Ascona - a city in Switzerland, where she finished her days. In Verevkina role in the film Stella Tinbergen appears German actress Lena Stolze, which has some resemblance to a portrait of his heroine. Conducted a huge research work in Russia, Lithuania, Switzerland and Germany, and this film will be something innovative, a new force to look at the fate of this amazing woman, virtually unknown in Russia. Stella Tinbergen text from the letters and diaries Verevkina, including those for the first time translated from French into German. Assistance provided and Galina Nanba - Our country, more than 20 years living and working in Switzerland, as well as Stella literally "infested" fate Verevkina. Strange but true: it was Marianne Verevkina influenced Kandinsky, and only his faithful, and then the wrong mate artist Alexei Yavlensky literally fostered a creative personality and the creator, at the time of interrupting their own careers. Incidentally, in the Museum of Wiesbaden is a very serious collection of works by Alexei Yavlensky. Verevkina was fascinated by her teacher, Ilya Repin (one of his portraits Verevkina also stored in the museum in Wiesbaden), but we still know so little about this artist with a vivid and happiest women's fate. At the premiere in Germany came descendants and relatives Verevkina and Yavlensky, some of whom took an active part in creating the painting.

It is believed that this remarkable woman foresaw the main directions of development of art of the twentieth century. In 1903, she wrote: "Color has intrinsic value ... Color determines the shape ... The brighter impression, the less possible form. Note, this was long before the appearance of merit of the ideas of Kandinsky, Larionov and Malevich.

Her paintings have been limited opportunities for those high ideas of what it sets out in his diaries, but it has the strongest impact on the artistic life of Munich, there was no significant artist, writer or musician, who did not attend to her salon, and they all noted her brilliant intellect and invincibility in the discussions.

Later, she regretted that she could not "squeeze out" of Yavlensky everything that was planned, it is too much attention was given to his new family at the expense of art. It would be very interesting to see what else could "give" genius Yavlensky under her leadership, not take it when leaving Peterburg, this maid ...

finds no support in official academia, and Jawlensky Verevkina decide to go to Europe, one of the "hot spots" in the development of a new art (In 1896, after his father's death, Marianne Verevkina begins to receive annual pension to which she and Jawlensky will live up to the First World War). Their choice stops at Munich, one of the main centers of artistic activity, the pole of attraction of the Scandinavian and Russian artists. Marianne Verevkina arrived in Munich with Alexei Jawlensky, Igor Grabar and Dmitry Kardovsky. In Munich salon Verevkina gather members founded the Brotherhood of St. Luke's it - various artists, including Wassily Kandinsky, Gabriel Munter and Paul Klee.
***********************
Verevkina Theoretical Reflections on "abstract art" as "domestic art" (they are set out in "Letters to a stranger"), to influence the members of the Modern Art Society "and" Blue Rider "will be Kandinsky later developed in his books 1909-1911-ies.
********************
The break with Jawlensky meant not only a way out of his influence, but a renunciation of the circle in which Verevkina played the role of theorist. One, Verevkina gains independence, internal balance, reborn as an artist ...

Aristocratic - still somewhat exaggerated, they are the nobles of Moscow (formerly Orel) lips. But a prominent position, my father died-General of Infantry (his biography). Mother - Elizabeth Daragan (1834-1883). The artist, apparently, was baptized as Mariamna, the name changed to the Western style.
