Kandinsky Prize 2009
 

November 2 at 18:30 in the Central House of Artists (CHA) on the Crimean Val opens exhibition of works by Kandinsky Prize Nominees for the 2009 competition year.
Kandinsky Prize exhibition presents the nominees for the third time (since 2007). Over the last qualifying period in the organizational structure of the awards have been two changes: expanded from 6 to 7 people, the international jury and was established by the advisory council of 6 people.

Because the jury came Friedhelm Hütten, director of Deutsche Bank Art, new members of the jury began Alla Rosenfeld, curator, art historian, vice president of Russian paintings Sotheby's (2006-2008), and Vasily Tsereteli, executive director of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.

Application deadline in 2009 declined from 4.5 months to 3.5 months. During this time, was filed by 331 (the last year - 337), each party may submit multiple works in different nominations. The total number of nominees in 2009 was 45.

The exhibition in Central House of Artists, a total area of 3.5 thousand square meters. m, will feature the works of all 45 award nominees by Kandinsky in 2009 in three categories, with a total prize fund of 60 thousand euros, including:
• «Project of the Year" - 24 nominee (40 thousand euros);
• «Young Artist. Project of the Year "- 10 nominees (up to 30 years, 10 thousand euros);
• «media art. Project of the Year "- 11 nominees (10 thousand euros).

The exhibition will run until November 26. Exposure and design exhibitions - Andrei Erofeev, architecture - Boris Bernasconi.

Paul Pepperstein
 

Paul Pepperstein was born in the artist V. Pivovarova in 1966.
In 1987 he graduated from the Prague Academy of Arts and founded the group "Medical Hermeneutics".
Overall artist's work formed under the influence of Conceptual Ilya Kabakov and Victor Pivovarov.
