Help identify the author of the picture: D and tell him the cost: confused:, though not intend to sell, just bought today.
Paper later pasted on cardboard, pencil, watercolor white, 12h19 cm, 1878 (?) Year. It would also be curious to know which film this picture?

Евгений 04.06.2009 16:38

SergeiSK, a hypothesis which?

uriart 04.06.2009 16:49

Monogram Polenovskaya, but the picture itself - can be!

Евгений 04.06.2009 16:57

uriart, you're right, the signature Polenova VD very similar ..

uriart 04.06.2009 17:44

If the draw was not too lazy, exactly the manner used it to sign.
Although it may very well be Polenov.
Figure quite professional. And the story I saw this from him.
Three years as the Swedish auction were sold at several work Polenova
from the collection of Alexander-III labeled Anichkov Palace.
The works were removed from the Soviets in the 20-ies of Swedish specialists worked
in St. Petersburg.
So this is just seen a similar plot.

Now look in the archives of sales and, as luck, these works are described,
a photo available.

This is a series of preparatory drawings for the painting "Old Mill". In the State Tretyakov Gallery is a sketch for this painting in oil on canvas, 10H17, 8.
Etude called: "Sunny day. Mill. Olshanka."

Basil Polenov

Old Mill , 1880
Oil on canvas. 88x135 cm
Serpukhov Art and Historical Museum, Serpukhov.
There is a sketch of "winter" version of this picture, but where it is stored, I do not remember.

Cyril Syzransky, it does not. The picture house with windows and even a terrace, and a picture - not at all.

It is in this Olshanka many drawings done. It is only then this whole series of the late 70's. "glued" to the old mill.
And actually I do not give 100%, it tazhe mill, just know these polenovskie drawings of this period. This can and with the Bulgarian front picture when Vasily was an artist at the headquarters of Tsarevich Alexander Alexandrovich (buduyuschego A. 3rd), and sometimes they fall.

This can and Bulgarian front picture

I also think so. Here is a quote from Eleanor Paston (Monograph on the work of Basil Polenova):
"... In September 1876 in the Russian volunteer army painter went to volunteer for the Serbo-Turkish front in order to participate in the ongoing struggle for the liberation of Serbs from the Turkish yoke. For participation in hostilities, he was awarded the Montenegrin Medal for bravery and the Order of "Rakovsky the Cross." military experience Polenov were reflected in the figures published in the journal "bee." It is basically a scene from the camping life, ethnographic types, architectural sketches. "Scenes of the human defacement and death," where everything is "so awful and just" were alien Polenov. He avoided them and later, when, as a frontline artist participated in the Russian-Turkish war (1877-Spring 1878). "
My drawing is dated 1878 year. Here's to compare three works. Houses are like:):

I found in my old folder of work that were sold in 2005 at Auktsionsverket in Stockholm, which I wrote earlier.
Plot similar to the published figure.

SergeiSK 06.06.2009 08:32

I remember those Polenov. To my mind went somewhere beyond 280-300000 euros.
Yes, the plots are similar to my figure, so thank you all!
