2. ABOUT THE UNIT /TEAM
Post holder will be part of the team visitor operation that is part of a commercial and tourism management, responsible for the delivery of high quality visitor experience from 345 locations and revenues of around £ 30 million a year. The team is managed by the head of visitor operations, who is responsible for 75 staffed properties throughout Scotland.
Monument Manager Inchcolm Abbey says in the commercial users Services Manager for the Western District of the Central region, and will be responsible for the increase in the number of visitors, encouraging visitors and offers real friendly and informed service. The district consists of nine work sites.
You will be part of a team of four people (including you), based on Inchcolm Abbey (which gets about 20,000 visitors a year). The successful candidate will manage the two-part full year Monument stewards (Band) and one full year of part-monument Steward (Band). It is expected that both the manager and the full memorial monument Steward full year will be on the island in a two bedroom property for a period of late March to late October 2013 and the same period in each year of service. Since there are limited services on the island, there is no rent. It should be noted that the manager and the full memorial monument Steward full year are expected to live and work in the immediate vicinity.
3. Range of duties
1. Team Manager:
Shared ownership and responsibility for the site on a day to day basis.
Ensure that all the briefings /notes cascade /distributed the entire team in a timely manner.
Ensure accurate and timely execution of all daily, weekly, monthly inspections /reports, manage schedules, overtime and T & S claims.
To monitor the operation of the site against all targets and trigger corrective action when necessary.
Communication with CVSM, TCM, CU and other Depts HS on all issues, work, study visits, weddings and other events, if necessary, etc.
2. Managing people:
Management team, the direction of the installation, all aspects of the lack of management accounts and a middle and an end of year /end of season reviews. To enable the management and accounting of all the other people associated documentation.
To educate, train and motivate a team in place.
For site management company, annual /sick leave, training covers etc. combined with CVSM and mobile Steward.
To assist delegated set if necessary.
3. Resource Management:
To account for all money daily in the bank in accordance with the schedule of cash, receipts, credit cards, following daily routines, as described in retail management. If necessary, accounts, records and other subsidiary bank that Income: parking cash donations.
To ensure that all financial instruments in place, accurate and any discrepancies in the message.
To ensure that the management of the site resources are best used within existing budgets and all changes will be discussed and agreed with CVSM.

Encourage and promote the sale of souvenir guide and retail goods.
Responsibility for the retail area, including cleanliness, order stock, prices, rotation and attractive display at the moment.
Delivery of customer care of internal and external clients in accordance with the expectations of Historic Scotland.
Giving information regarding the history of the site in a creative conversation and, if necessary, to conduct tours.

6. Presentation by:
