Вложений: 3
Dear art lovers

Maybe some of you can guess the school period and this picture?

oil /canvas

38 x 28 cm

Exhibited in "Fogg Museum of Art", Cambridge, Mass.

Thank you!

Игорь Гурьев 16.11.2012 00:10

Well, it is in the style of Bernardo Strozzi, but probably written a hundred years later.

Maybe Flemish school?
19th century?

Maybe Flemish school?
19th century?

And it is impossible to know in "Fogg Museum of Art", Cambridge, Mass , where it is, as you say, exposed?

macas 16.11.2012 11:31

Already written to them and waiting for a reply :)>

I agree with you, but the story reminds me of someone from the 17th century.
May be a copy?
I wrote to the museum, but they are unlikely to tell the artist of this painting.

Can be defined as: Italian School of the 18th century.

Here's peers:

I guess what the picture was exhibited in "Fogg Museum" does not give value.

I say, look at the work of Bernardo Strozzi and around it.

macas 19.11.2012 19:56

Received a reply from "Fogg Art Museum":

"The picture has been here from November 21 to December 22, 1938 and our records show that she was here in the Research Department. The records information is available : Portrait of an elderly woman , Spain , 17th century ."

What do you think - I need to investigate further, or the study did not produce any results ? Bonhams at the price of these paintings - 200-300 dollars.

I made a few new photos.
I was told that the picture was taken in the 17th century.
Can this be true?
What do you think, is it worth doing chemical analysis?

I was told that the painting was done in the 17th century.

Maybe so.
And it may be, and Spain.

Other images of the late 17th century or early 18th.

No more than that, I think.

Far from Ribera and Zurbaran, say ...

macas 01.12.2012 22:26

I agree with you.
I do not see the hand of the master in this picture.
But the portrait is what that force

Only one detail.
The previous owner thought that the painting was done by José de Ribera.
Finally I can say is - circle José de Ribera (1591-1652).

Possible.

Saying of noodle that is in terms of B. Strozzi, I'm not too far away, you know.

Perhaps it is the cut of the picture, rather than individual work.
Open the turnover (nothing wrong with that), is likely to be a continuation of the edge painting.

As an example, part of the plot "Lamentation", more secular painting without halo.
