Krohn Christian Cornelius (1882-1959)
(also known under the name Xan Krohn, Krohn exa)
 
Painter. He worked primarily as a portraitist and landscape painter.
Born June 15, 1882 in Bergen, died in Oslo on October 30, 1959.
In 1905 - 1917 years of living in Russia.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg Ilya Repin (1905-1906), the School Holloshi in Munich (1906), in 1907 - in Paris at the Academy of La Palette;
as well as the Academie Vitte and the Academie Colarossi. He continued his studies in Italy.
In 1907, Krohn married with Russian Swedish origin Julia Holmberg from Kursk. Julia was a circle of Russian artists in Paris, which has considerably helped to strengthen ties in Crohn's Russian avant-garde circles.
In 1909 the Crown is exhibited in two shows in Odessa, World of Art and Beauty Izdebsky. In 1910-11 gg. participated in the "Salon 2".
1911. - First solo exhibition at Blomqvist (Oslo).
1912. - First solo exhibition in Russia (Kiev).
In 1914 he took part in the exhibition "Ring" in Kiev, whose organizers were A. Bogomazov and Alexandra Exter.
In 1915. moved to Moscow, where portraits of SI Shchukin.
1916. - Participated in the exhibition of the Moscow Association of Artists.
Exhibitions "The Knave of Diamonds" 1912. , 1916. and 1917.
Author frescoes for the Geographical Museum in Tiflis (1913-1915).
In 1917 he left for Norway. In the 1920's attracted to African art.
In 1920 participated in a joint exhibition with Munko in Riga.
