Required landscape - an exhibition in St. Petersburg and the presentation of the book
 

Dear friends, Northwind Gallery (St. Petersburg, Foundry 58) March 22 to 17 hours will be a presentation of the book of the St. Petersburg art critic Liubov Gurevich "Required landscape and open an exhibition dedicated to this project.
The essence of the project are as follows. The author suggested that 26 Petersburg artist to write the same view from the balcony of her apartment on the Black River. For several months, notwithstanding that the artists are gradually on a mission. As a result, it was created 58 paintings and drawings. Selecting 20 of them, Gurevich wrote the introductory text, instructional text for each of these 20 products, and summarizing the final text. The result is a small book, equipped with 20 color illustrations, which will be presented in the gallery.
Simultaneously with the presentation opens the exhibition, which will showcase established as a result of this project work.
In fairness it should be noted that a similar initiative in 1983, organized by artist Ivan Sotnikov, which offered artists came to him to write a view on Turgenev Square from the window of his room. In 2002 began a long-term project of Alexander Florensky, characterized in that the view from the window of his studio with the dome of the museum all the writing on the Arctic issued them the same size lap.
