In connection with the topic I was reminded of the mid-90's. Then, in the province, particularly in Samara, often "British". To tell the truth, "the English" they are the same as all of us. Bought up the bulk of work by local artists at prices ranging from 3 to 10 dollars for a half-meter size, and up to 50 - per meter. Bought hundreds of pieces exported suitcases, and came repeatedly. The advantage of giving, of course, work 1950-60-ies. We have one artist flat bought with the money. Then these pictures surfaced on the English auctions at prices 10 - 20 times higher. By the end of 1990 this business has dried up. Apparently, profitability has fallen. I thought that those days are gone. However, I see there is still something in the bins :)
