Dreams Matthew Weisberg

In Kiev Gallery Ducat exhibition Matthew Weisberg ...
In principle, we could confine this brief statement of the pictures and watch as the painting Weisberg speaks for itself. And yet, still ... I think the process of "scrutinizing" in "Fragments of Time" (the title of the exhibition) entices the viewer to interpret. It's like reading a fascinating book, when you stop being aloof and bored, the reader is drawn into the event with his head. Then we can measure the heroes themselves, to argue with the author and to rewrite certain chapters in my mind. Fragments of the time - this is a dream, seen, and immediately captured on paper and canvas. This sort of diary in which he recorded the most vivid flashes of sensations of a day, week, month or year. Sometimes you open it and remembered how it was - to the smallest detail. Weisberg is trying to capture time, which, in fact, does not exist. For the Creator past, present and future are equally real and valid. And for the creator - as well. These "clumps of time" as the artist calls them - scenery outside the window, childhood memories, the dark sketches of nursing homes, open dialogue with the masters of the past, the biblical allusions - they are all dreams, full of symbolic meaning and suggesting the most diverse and incredible reading. The artist gives us a unique opportunity to see his dreams and recognize in them the essential features of our everyday lives. Weisberg dreams remind us of the depth dimension of our reality, about how we are selfish, reckless and arrogant in the face of this inexorable reality. "Fragments of Time" are the chronology of how consistently we kill time until, finally, it does not kill us. But the lesson only by great masters. No, perhaps the only great ... Mitya, if you read this, then forgive me for being too pathetic. |
Stanislavsky, thanks.
Absolutely no idea of the artist. Works just great, powerful and deep. Especially liked the 3 (Uccello), 4, 5 (a self-portrait?), 8 (Latour). If there is - show yet. |

I was at the exhibition Matthew Weisberg and experienced a deep catharsis. I think his paintings can be delivered in line with the most outstanding works of world art and counted among the top of the world's artistic heritage. Without exception, all the work reveal the bottomless depths of the inner world of a genius, not afraid of the word artist.
And I was very lucky: I now owner of an autographed catalog wizard! I envy myself! |
Stanislavsky, thank you very much, for me it is one of the best of modern Ukrainian artists.

Photos from the opening, the first artist to her son.
On the sixth left Leonid Komsky gallerist and art historian Edward Dymshits open the exhibition. |
SAH, thanks. Wonderful photos, wonderful master - the person simply philosophize with a paintbrush in his hand.
His "Poussin" just looks "precious" original. Still, with all its original merits dryish on painting, but here everything just shines. God forgive me, Nicolas :) And what is there for a picture with the sky? In the photo as a rustic look. Interestingly, and what it costs? Completely idle question - for the overall development :shy: |

Yes, these photos of the work is not as rustic as the general appearance.
I love these skies. Congratulations - good work. Imagine how they might be good "live". Weisberg looked at picasaweb - was not disappointed. Many very interesting papers |
Very pleased that the work of this wonderful artist here was appreciated. Beginning with his first show, he always pleases me. Weisberg love for the great letter, because he is one of the few in the Kiev-minded artists (although it is widely believed that the brains for painters - a luxury) for their ability without vulgarity touch to the universal problems, because he knows how to express the subtlety of human emotions - especially such a dimension of love, tenderness. The latter leads to regret that he did not feel themselves in the children's schedule. (Which would be a curious contrast to Gapchinskaya ;)).
But I have one tooth on Matthew: peering into the abyss of the universe, it remains too "chamber", too lyrical to explore their dark depths to the bottom (the "human, all too human ..."). I do believe, however, that he has untapped potential. And looked forward to his new show: when he finally made the plunge and will find that the monumentality and strength that will not call him an artist of advances outstanding. As for the price of his work - I think that it is undervalued in the Ukraine. Maybe he is too refined for the prevailing regional market tastes. Here is the address of his site: www.mvaisberg.com. Enjoy. |

I also love creativity of this remarkable artist.
I think Matthew is really outstanding. I was invited to the opening, but I got sick and, alas, failed. True, most of the work I've seen live. It is a pity that the photo does not convey the beauty and depth of the pictures Matthew. |
