Yakutovich George V. was born February 14, 1930 in Kiev. According to Sergei Yakutovych, the famous Ukrainian artist, son of George Vyacheslavovich (interview with "Ukraine is young"), themselves Yakutovich from Belarus: Gomel province village of Raven. In Kiev, they teamed up with Sinchillo. There was a Sinchillo-Stefanovsky, a friend of Taras Shevchenko, who had an art school and painted in Podil church. Yakutovich were contractors, building churches: for it came misalliance birth. This paternal line. And according to my mother - my grandfather was in the same class as Bulgakov in the First Kiev Gymnasium, great-grandfather - a professor at Kiev University of St. Vladimir, the founder of the Institute of Microbiology.
The future Ukrainian graphic artist George Yakutovich studied art at the Kiev Art Institute. Was influenced by the works of George Narbut and schools "boychukistov", inspired by folk art and simplicity monumentalism Diego Rivera.
 
Is known for exquisite graphics, mostly derevoritami to "Fata Morgana" Mikhail Kotsubynskogo (1957), "Yaroslav the Wise" and "Svichchine vesillya" Ivan Kocherha (1962), "The Cossack Golota" Mary burnt (1966), "Zahar Berkut" Ivan Franko ( 1972), "Maple Leaves" Vasil Stefanik, to the "Lay" (1977).
 In addition to the book charts George Yakutovich made some engravings on historical themes: "Ivan Vishensky", "Oleg Gorislavich" cycles on the topic of Ukrainian folk tales, ancient Ukrainian music, greeting cards based on Ukrainian folk songs. Author of the memoirs of Sergei Paradzhanov 'Unfinished Confession' in the book "Sergei Paradjanov. Splash. Tragedy. Eternity." (Karl, 1994). George Yakutovich - Art Direction iconic films "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" (1964, directed by Sergei Paradjanov) and "Zahar Berkut" (1971, directed by Leonid Osyka). Was a consultant to tape "Stone Cross" (1968).
