Wow, wow - the work of "Olga Ivanovna! :) (Always wanted to see them, when read)

"- Yes, sir ... This is a cloud you cried: it is not lit in the evening. The foreground is somehow chewed and something, you understand, not that ...
A hut you choked on something and plaintive whines ... We ought to take this angle is darker. But in general, недурственно ... Praise.

And the more incomprehensible he talked, the easier Olga Ivanovna understood him. "

Interesting letter.
SP Kuvshynnykova

April 23, 1890 Volga steamer "Alexander Nevsky".

April 23. Early in the morning.

Saw Ples. I heard the church graveyard, I saw house with red roof ... Heard a sad accordion. Little cold to go. Somewhere on the beach comes across the snow.

I feel fine. If it were not cold, it could stand on the deck and the cabin boring.

Caviar amazing, for lack of company I eat it without the vodka, and still she's fantastic. A bottle of brandy will be uncorked on the shore of the Pacific Ocean. I bow to all.

Your Chekhov.

with Levitan was very angry and felt insulted))

Some readers gleefully giggling and rubbing their hands with gusto vychityvaya of "Grasshopper" allusions and analogies, others, of which there was a majority, condemned Chekhov. Anton Pavlovich tried to justify himself. "You can imagine - he complained LA Avilova April 29, 1892 - a friend of my 42-year-old lady, she found herself in the heroine of my twenty years" Grasshopper, "and I was all Moscow accuses of libel. The main piece of evidence - external similarity: the lady paints, the husband of her doctor and she lived with the artist.
Over all offended Levitan. Isaac Ilich wanted to call Chekhov to a duel. His dissuaded. But he quarreled with his former friend a few years. Sofya Petrovna forever severed all relations with him.

And judging by the pictures Kuvshynnykova (1893), just at this point absolutely determined that this was the largest city and port.
But on the board, you need to think about. Who were these Verbinski. And in what city the city they had art store.

Everyone thank you for the interesting information about the wonderful and unique Russian artists depicting the most beautiful places of our country.

just at this place quite determined that it was the largest city and port.

In the XIX century the town became an important river port on the Volga trade route. At that time, built Trinity (1808) and Resurrection (1817) church. In the mid-century, there have a lot of stone buildings: 35 houses, 7 churches, 2 chapels, 3 buildings trade rows. Railway Ivanovo-Kineshma passed away from Pleso, leading to its decline as a shopping center. Pless becomes a place of rest for bump gardeners. (c)
The road was built in 1871

This, I understand, Anton Palych about the church, "Eternal Rest" writes (on Levitan's painting depicts the same name), but could be wrong. This church was burned in the early 20 th century, now in its place is different, but roughly the same age as the predecessor (moved from somewhere).

Yes, and judging by the pictures Kuvshynnykova (1893), just at this point absolutely determined that this was the largest city and port.

These works Kuvshynnykova, incidentally, can be viewed together with the work of Levitan in Plesskii House Museum Isaac Ilyich.
That catalog of all the museum http://plyos.narod.ru/catalog/web/GROU1/C.HTM In addition Levitan - and Shishkin you, please, and Polenov, and Savrasov, and many who are .

Found here are excerpts from the diaries of artists brothers Chernetsov about Ples amusing (in 1838 they were there):
"Residents took advantage of fine jets of keys in a variety of hitting the mountain. They held the keys through their yards, which are arranged in a fish-tanks and the water passing through shared in the same, continuing the path gutters, where it is taken for home use ... In these cages in pure spring water swimming Sturgeon and other waters of the inmates of the Volga; owner before dinner for a family or wanting to regale the good guest, enters the yard, pick any, poddevaet doomed SADC and ... in the pan ".
"There is a very well-structured home, and many of them are walls of the rooms seem at first glance as if made under the marble. But this view, they are primed for which are covered with oil paints. The floors are covered with felt, which stretched canvas, and painted paints in oil. Beyond its softness, they have the comfort that they are easy to keep clean.

Dear rolls. The inscription on the stamp could be to try to recover in Photoshop. But, alas, not with your picture. It completely "knocked out" the blue channel, ie most important for the restoration of the inscription, because the print is made with blue or violet ink. Apparently, you took pictures when the light bulb. Or camera sglyuchil. Take a photo not in artificial light, or put a camera in the mode of artificial light, and not "Auto", or remove a light (!) Blue filter. Then you can "extend" the inscription, which would give you more information.

Stamp "Verbinski" - is just a stamp on the carton, which was bought by the artist in that shop.

As for the pictures.
This polulyubitelsky landscape, which can be dated from 1890 to 1900-ies.

Full-scale matched the artist is not bothered very much, so questions about the age of trees, I think, there's no significance.

Dvuhseansovy (if not single) пейзажик, the price of this hotel Drouot - 50 euros.
