With regard to fame:
At the press screening came a little journalists, and indeed people. I went for the 15-Tb minutes before the start and was the first He belted two more and I was worried that will remain so.
And people in the room will be less than the podium. But then, thank God, came up, but there was little press.
A little later to tell what was on opening day, I have not stayed, although people came thicker.
Constantine thank you very much for the interesting stuff!
I want to add my "two cents worth."
A couple of years ago I wrote an article for a local history collection of two graduates of Mariupol Alexander Gymnasium, which in 1906 went to Munich to win, which is called the "German Athens." It was Alexander P. Mogilev - the future well-known Soviet graphic and Alexander S. Sakharov, became a famous dancer and choreographer, unfortunately, known in Europe and forgotten in his homeland. Last years of his life, Alexander Sakharov spent in Italy, first settled in Rome and then in Siena. Here he was engaged in teaching activities - taught choreography. Great artist died in 1963 in Siena on 78 year of age. His wife, Clotilde Sakharov (von der Planica) died in 1974. A huge archive of family Sakharov was deposited in the library of Harvard University in Cambridge in 1974.
Alexander Mogilevsky survived another 17 years and died in 1980 in Moscow.
However, the topic concerns Verevkin, so bring the relevant excerpts from his article:

"Soon, Alexander Sakharov, became friendly with an artist of Russia Alexei von Jawlensky and his wife, artist Marianne Verevkin, was a frequent and welcome guest in their house on Gizelashtrasse. Here there Dobuzhinsky M., V. Borisov-Musatov, Serov, in whose honor was arranged an unforgettable evening. visited the hospitable house and countryman of our heroes - A. Kuindzhi, who traveled through Europe with my students. "Invited to tea by our Russian Munich", - writes one of them in a letter home.
Jawlensky, after the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, came to Munich in 1896 and together with Verevkin studied in the studio Aschbe. There he met Wassily Kandinsky. Together they have formulated their specific understanding of the art: the goal of painting is not actually the identity map graphic means, and the harmony of colors and moods. Here he writes about the time Mogilev in his memoirs: "We often gather at the artist A. von Jawlensky. His wife, M. Verevkina - an artist with great joy we all took. There were Narbut, Alexander Sakharov, an artist and I Behteev. Over a cup of tea were passionate discussions about art and about the current exhibitions in the cabin Tangauzera where exhibited paintings by Manet, posthumously - Van Gogh and the works of "New Society of Artists, whose members were we - the painters."
Interesting memories of those events left the above-mentioned Vladimir Behteev. In 1906 he returned to Munich after a journey through France, Italy and Tunisia with the already-defined artistic "credo" and immediately joined the artistic life of the city, becoming a full participant. Among his friends and associates Wassily Kandinsky, Alexander Jawlensky, M. Verevkina, A. Erbsle. The closest of his friends become Sakharov, AV Mogilev, and B. Saltzman.
"Munich 1902-1914 years - the time of my youth, my hopes, my first entry into the art! How many of my compatriots, I came to Munich to study (school prof. Knirra), but the real school was Wednesday.
I was just thrown off the military uniform, was particularly struck in Munich the atmosphere of easy fun, ease of human relationships and goodwill. Artists of various nationalities flocked to Munich as a center for the arts, where everyone contributed to their development: nature, famous schools and museums, and friendly environment. Artists quickly approached. We were all united by one chuvstvm devotion to art, the desire to penetrate its mysteries, to find new means of expression. With a sense of selfless joy, we met each other's success. Working hard in their studios or schools, in the evening we dedicate to communicate with each other, met in cafes, pubs (pub Katie Kobus), and sometimes in the house Yavlenskogo-Verevkin, where famous artists as Anna Pavlova, Nijinsky, Eleonora Duse was applied visits during the tour. My closest friends were artists Jawlensky, sugars and Salzman.
In Munich, Jawlensky with Verevkin were already old-timers and have played a significant role in the artistic life of Germany. In 1909 they, along with Kandinsky and G. Munter announced the creation of the New Artists Association of Munich ". In the same year the first Sakharov participates in an exhibition in Munich Artists' Association, and a year later and his friend - Alexander Mogilev. The association consisted of artists from Italy, France, Russia, Germany: W. Behteev, A. Erbsle, A. Jawlensky, M. Verevkina, P. Baum, E. Bossi, P. Zhuri, A. Kanold, M. Kogan, and other . It should be noted that this association was to some extent, compromise, and its composition, even accidental. It is noteworthy that the creativity of Andrei Sakharov and Kandinsky were not limited to participation in "the new association of artists in Munich." Thus, in the years 1912-1914, they, along with composer F. Hartmann working tsvetomuzykalnoy song "Yellow Sound". Thus, they decided to realize his dream of a synthesis of arts ".
And another interesting fact: in Mariupol, on Jan. 15, 1921 in the former confectioner Mars exhibition was opened Mariupol artists. However, the main event for Mariupol was that, along with local artists in the exhibition was attended by such famous masters as Alexei Jawlensky, George Narbut, Nicholas Dubovskoy, Alfred Verush-Kowalski, Marianne Verevkina. This can be read in the newspaper Izvestia Mariupol district committee KP (AB) W. ...», Which published an article by a certain A. Wrange "Exhibition of paintings".
How did a provincial Mariupol work so well-known masters?
With high probability, we can assume that the paintings brought to Mariupol A. Mogilev, which many artists knew him closely even in Munich. So, Marianne Verevkina, in such famous company being hit at that time, his wife Alexei von Jawlensky (in 1921 they parted ways). With George Narbut Mogilev had a good relationship and, possibly, George gave his drawings Alexander. Family von Jawlensky, who settled in Munich in 1896, was a friend of Alexander Sakharov. Perhaps it is, he persuaded his idol to work at an exhibition in his native Mariupol. Sakharov also provided their work. (Now we can say that this was his farewell to the city where he was born and raised).
It was interesting to see at the exhibition portrait Sakharov, written Verevkin. Also it depicted G. Narbut, M. Dobuzhinsky, A. von Jawlensky (see below).
In general, Verevkina pleasantly surprised! Thanks again!

Unfortunately, fate unknown paintings exhibited in a single museum, they just have not got. Here we must take into account what time it was in the yard. Beginning of 1921. Mariupol after the civil war in a state of economic collapse, dozens of bands around the act, in February 1921 a rapid raid on the Mariupol district has made with the remnants of his army of Nestor Makhno. The remarkable fact that enthusiasts have found and made such an interesting show. Where is the picture from this show - only God knows.

Letter Grabar - VE Grabar
Naples, September 17, 1895
"... In Rome, I waited a whole month, a letter from a certain Verevkin, daughter of the commandant of St. Petersburg, an aristocrat who does not want to know the world and only lives for the painting. She - extraordinary connoisseur of art, her evenings are fixed Repin, who appreciates her understanding - in the sense it is much above it, a talented artist, exhibited many, but considers himself a great talent, because too much is well understood. This letter consisted of 16 pages. God, what she wrote me, what screams were heard from the rows of the letter . She writes that all of them, that our whole circle, prisosutsya as leeches, to these photos, and nobody otrovet from them. "
