MIZGIREVA Olga Fominichna

This was exactly seventy years ago. That September day in 1938 was no different from the same clear, crystal-transparent, watercolor karakalinskoy warm days of autumn. Such as they were a century ago, the same will be after, if not for one circumstance, which gave special importance to this day, identifying him his place in history. On this day, the valley Sumbar, green waves spattered around the foothills of the Western Kopetdag, was a young woman. Behind her was a backpack, on his side hung a ouija board with a pile of paper and pencils on his head a broad-brimmed straw hat. However, in the traveling woman was difficult to suspect merely curious tourist. She purposefully walked to the foot of the mountain Syunt, carefully examining the plants, occurring in its path. The woman was a laboratory Karakalinskoy Experiment Station and the aim of the expedition were looking mysterious herb "selmelek", which she told the local shepherds. In the end, she saw what looked, - a handsome ornamental shrub with creeping like a meter burdock leaves. Carefully examining the find, the woman carefully dug up the bush with a long rhizome, gently put him in a bag and moved back. Her name was Olga Mizgireva.

If you happen to visit the Turkmen State Museum of Fine Arts, then, among other works of remarkable artists of your attention will undoubtedly attract a few paintings from speaking the names of "Heat", "Turkmen girls," Creativity carpet "," Four wives ". This poetry of paint. Or paint poetry. From them comes a subtle charm that immediately penetrates the soul. They are filled with light and goodness. It seems that these pictures to be painted by the master of the mature and hard to believe that she had written them a very young girl - Olga Mizgireva.

She was born in Tashkent, in 1908, but spent his whole life in Turkmenistan, which all became her home. Since then, she first touched the paper and withdrew her first curl, she never parted with pencils, brushes and paints. A passion for drawing led her twelve year old girl in the strike of the East School of Arts in Ashgabat. Olya immediately became one of the most talented pupils of the school. It is here revealed her creative talent. Later, about her will say: she stood at the origins of the Turkmen painting.

The young artist studied a rich ornamental art of the Turkmen people - patterns gowns, embroidery, carpets. And in her work, performed in the garish style of Orientalists, was something from the tie Teke carpet. She listened to the Turkmen legends and display them in their graphic works "Legend of the creek," "Legend of nohurskom sycamore. The best of them - "Legend of the cuckoo." This is a touching, very lyrical story of the little shepherdess, which is not counted in the herd of two horses and was transformed by God out of pity for his sincere grief at cuckoo. The child could not forget his troubles, and since then all the time repeats his "al iki ek", "al iki ek" - "no two horses."

From Olga Mizgirevoy whose work has entered the golden fund of Turkmen art, no doubt could produce a large and brilliant artist, but ... The fate of humanity is unpredictable, and one day she was to everyone's surprise, put aside the canvases and brushes, pencils and paints, to have them not return. Talented artist, the fiery comet flying across the sky art, suddenly disappeared from his horizon. Most of its work is not appearing on the show ... What happened?

In 1934 Olga Mizgirevu, under orders Turkmengosizdata, where she worked as a painter, was sent to the Turkmen Experimental Station of All-Union Institute of Plant Industry in the Kara-Kala in order to make sketches of plants for visual teaching aids. Work on the station is so interested in her, that his return to Ashgabat Mizgireva wrote a letter of resignation and returned to the Kara-Kala, to live here the rest of his life. She returned not only to the station, to people who struck it with his enthusiasm necessary and interesting work, she went back to the roots of her childhood, which took place in those shaking unearthly beauty field. There she first heard the sound of a child carpet machines, saw the rhythmic waving of the hands of carpet weavers, whose designs will be included later in her paintings, and remembered their song in time to work "Garrygala myhman bolsun ..." ( "When you come to Kara-Kala, the mountains will take you in his arms ...»).

Later, when Olga Fominichna asked why after all she had left arts, Mizgireva replied that touching the outside world, to realize all his greatness and infinite, it no longer wanted to just copy nature, she would like to serve it. Therefore the beginning of life from the beginning, not for a moment regretting his decision. Nature has for her creative workshop.

Left in the Kara-Kala, Mizgireva first time a simple lab work. However, she knew perfectly well that the nature of the service requires not only the pure love and zeal, and profound knowledge. In 1940 she enrolled in the correspondence section of the produce Institute. Michurin in Moscow, and when during the war department was closed, went to the Turkmen Agricultural Institute in Ashgabat. The time of graduation Olga Fominichna has served as Director Experiment Station.

... That represents a mysterious "selmelek" which karakalinskie Turkmens are treated with great reverence, saying, "Give me the fruits selmeleka one to whom we wish well, and found it in one autumn day at the foot of the mountain Syunt, Mizgireva already guessed. But its hypothesis demanded scientific evidence and Olga Fominichna sent a plant in the All-Union Institute of Plant Industry in Leningrad, with the justification of its assumptions. Piterskie scientists guess no one known laboratory assistant from Kara-Kala did not believe (this can not be! ") And did not immediately set up tribal ownership of the plant because it has not been known in the flora of the USSR and contiguous countries. It took a long time until they find out that it got in their hands, and when found out, then gasped: the plant was ... mandrake, as befits Mizgireva.

Wild-growing apple has been known to people since ancient times, for example, in Assyria in the 9 century BC On mandrake wrote a glowing piece of the same name famous Italian writer, historian, political figure of the Renaissance Niccolo Machiavelli. Mandrake, paradoxically, - a relative of tomatoes. The fruits of her mind and recall for tomatoes, and the taste - something between a tomato and melon. Beliefs around the mandrake there so much that she could envy the famous ginseng. Medieval doctors attributed mandrake truly miraculous power. Its fruits fell into the category of universal medical facilities, becoming almost a panacea for all ills. Many nations mandrake roots were considered indispensable for the preparation of love potions and medicines. In ancient medical books describe a ritual of digging up the root of mandrake, so it was considered sacred. Thanks contained in the plant hallucinogenic possessing spasmolytic and analgesic properties, mandrake partly used in modern medicine.

Riddle was still in how the apple was in Sumbar valley? Types mandrake distributed in areas from Spain to the Mediterranean Sea, in the Himalayas in Tibet, but its discovery in Turkmenistan came to light botanical science as a complete surprise. Explanation for this phenomenon has not yet been found. Whatever it was, a new kind of plant is named after its discoverer. All botanical dictionaries, reference books and atlases plant Turkmen mandrake is no other way than mandragora turcomanico O. Mizigir. Thus, a simple laboratory assistant Olga Mizgireva at the very beginning of his research came in the way of natural history. In common parlance it was called the "godmother of the Turkmen mandrake. Over time, "mandrake turkomaniko O. Mizigir" was entered in the Red Book.

Engage in serious study of mandrake Olga Fominichna collected extensive material about this wonderful plant and defended her thesis on "The Mandrake Turkmen, its biology and the possibility of introducing a culture," received the degree of candidate of biological sciences.

Opening of the Turkmen mandrake, of course, was a scientific sensation, but after many years of talking about Olga Fominichna not very fond of. To do this, she had her own reasons. Experiments on crossing mandrake with some vegetables, then failed. Proved too resilient "mandrake turkomaniko", no one wanted to share its independence. "But I and many other", - said the director of the station. All scientific activities Mizgirevoy was aimed at mobilizing and maintaining the gene pool of fruit crops of Turkmenistan, on the development of subtropical crops of the country, to protect the natural environment. Thanks to the efforts of Olga Fominichna Mizgirevoy and other scientists in 1979 was organized Syunt-Khasardag Reserve.

Along with scientific research ever conducted Mizgireva breeding work. The team collected and multiplied station excellent collection of early apples, apricots, pears, peaches, cherries, plums, figs, walnuts, almonds, persimmons, olives. The derived at the experimental station grenades - the best in Turkmenistan. How wonderful plants went away in all corners of Turkmenistan and beyond. Karakalinskaya pistachio, for example, for many years successfully grown in California. For the best exhibit of fruit crops team Karakalinskoy experimental station was awarded five gold and two silver medals of the Main Committee VDNH USSR.

Sometimes Mizgirevu jokingly referred to as Babylon, as if drawing a parallel with the Assyrian queen, during the reign of which were created in Babylon Hanging Gardens, considered one of the seven wonders of the world. However, if the Gardens of Babylon were created at the expense of exhausting labor of slaves, the karakalinskie gardens have appeared thanks to diligent work director of the station and its friends, including many years of faithful assistant and the husband of Olga Fominichna - Nikolai Mikhailovich Minakova. It was lucky for all employees - staff the station is almost always consisted of people dedicated. Maybe they are lucky to live and work under the leadership of this small, fragile woman, which has absorbed the strength and vitality of its grown trees. Mizgireva visiting journalists talking about himself did not like (again begin to ask why I left the painting "), but on the station and his colleagues could talk a lot and be happy. With pride, she used to take visitors to the arboretum to the richest. What is just not there: the Italian pines, junipers, Canadian, Mexican yuccas, Crimean cypress, date palm, American Walnut, Spanish broom and juniper multimeter, a tiny sprig of which Olga Fominichna once she had brought from the mountains of handkerchiefs.

"The breeder of one little life", - said Olga Fominichna. Yet the fact that she was able to perform in science, it can fill more than one life. Up to eighty years Mizgireva led Karakalinskoy Experiment Station. In the ninth decade handed plant management in young hands and took up a generalization made for more than half a century of work on the ground. In scientific journals have been published about fifty scientific papers Olga Fominichna Mizgirevoy. Years of dedicated work of scientist-breeder was marked by two orders of Labor Red Banner, two Orders of the Badge of Honor, she was awarded the title of "Honored agronomist Turkmenistan.

Until the end of his life Olga Fominichna Mizgireva never parted with colors, moving them first on the canvas, and then filled with light gardens that still bloom in the foothills of the Kopet Dagh. The artist not only by birth, but in fact, it is not zaryla their talent in the ground. She has devoted his land that loved him devotedly.

Traditions, folk life, folk crafts, nature of Uzbekistan lifelong always inspired artists and influenced all his work. After the adoption of Islam artist received a new name Usto-Mumin, which means - Master.

_______________________________________________

Work to Asian period Usto Mumin we do not know, we know only that he was heavily infected Suprematism. However, having arrived in Turkestan, the artist once and forever change the "paradigm": the place of abstract geometry is "green world". This metamorphosis is not very typical of Central Asian artists of the avant-garde: the same Volkov, returning to Central Asia from St. Petersburg for a long time was under the obvious influence of the techniques learned in the Russian and Western painting. Apparently, the visit to Central Asia was linked to Mumin with some strong emotional event, which has contributed so decisively change.

From the work of Boris Chuhovicha "Friendship, love, eternity ..." Usto Mumin ».
