ARTIST DONATOVICH VLADIMIR ORLOVSKY
ACADEMIC REALISM
Vladimir donatovich Orlovsky - artist-пейзажист, academician of the Imperial Academy of arts, representative of academism. Born on 1 Feb 1842 in Kiev into a noble family. Elementary art education received in the Second Kiev gymnasium of I. M. Soshenko. Later he took lessons in St. Petersburg, Taras Shevchenko.
In 1861 Orlovsky entered the Academy of fine arts, where he began to make rapid progress under the leadership of A. P. Bogolyubov. During the period of study received all existing academic awards. In 1868 he graduated from the Academy of arts with the title of class artist 1-й extent, and for Crimean species received a gold medal and the right to travel at public expense abroad. In 1874 he was awarded the title of academician. The artworks are very diverse in nature (from Finland to the Crimea), and content. Wrote a lot for the aristocracy of Moscow and St. Petersburg, for the Royal family, was popular along with the I. K. Aivazovsky, in his work shows the influence of Arkhip Kuindzhi. Orlovsky died on 19 Feb 1914 in Nervi (Italy), buried in Kiev Lukyanovka cemetery.
