Запись от Про искусство размещена 03.05.2018 в 09:54

Why Fedor Schechtel was called the" Mozart of Russian architecture," and which of his buildings can be seen in the capital today.

One of his contemporaries spoke of the Schechtel:" He worked half a life in this seething, bubbling like uncorked champagne bottle...". Shekhtel built as much as was possible for any one architect, worked while it is very easy, fun and inspiration, showing incredible imagination. No wonder Schechtel was called the" Mozart of Russian architecture". 66 buildings in the capital was made by its projects, fortunately, many of them have survived until now. And they are a real decoration of the city.

Destiny and work Schechtel is inextricably linked with Moscow, which he loved with all his heart. The works of Fyodor Osipovich Schechtel largely determined the architectural appearance of pre-revolutionary Moscow. Today Schechtel is considered to be the father of a purely Russian phenomenon @- Moscow art Nouveau. Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, who was a friend of Schechtel, called it the most talented architects from all over the world.

Shekhtel, Fedor Osipovich.

In fact, the name of Franz Schechtel-Альберт, but in 1914 he accepted Christianity, receiving the name Theodore. A German by birth, Shekhtel forever linked its fate with Russia. But his fate was not easy.

Moved to Russia in the 18th-ом century, Seheli settled in Saratov. Initially business was bad, the family was quite wealthy, but after his father died, they fell on hard times. The mother went to work in Moscow, sitting as a housekeeper to the famous art collector Tretyakov, Fedor remained in Saratov to finish high school. He subsequently also moved to Moscow and entered the architectural Department of the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture.

But as his shoulders fell the responsibility for the maintenance of the family, Feodor had to earn money, and absenteeism he was expelled with 3 courses. But the lack of art education did not prevent him in 1901 to for his work the title of academician of architecture.
Although Shekhtel and is considered the father of the Moscow art Nouveau, to fit his work within a certain stylistic framework is very difficult. He did, playing with elements of different styles and trends, mixing and contrasting them, coming up with new items.

House in Ermolaevsky lane, in our days, after the restoration.

Speaking about the work of the great architect, one cannot ignore the mansions that Shekhtel built for himself. One of them is in Ermolaevsky lane, next to the metro station" Mayakovskaya". In this romantic miniature mansion-замке Shekhtel and his family lived 14 years of his life. It was the most fruitful years of the architect.

the Building consists of several parts, differing considerably in appearance. Shekhtel loved to experiment, and even in his-то the house he could not afford it. To this his house Shekhtel treated with humor, and in a letter to A. P. Chekhov wrote:" ...built a hut slo architecture that cabs are taking or for a pick, whether for the synagogue".

In 1910 the family moved to a more spacious house, built by Schechtel nearby on Sadovaya street. The children grew up, went to study in the School of painting, sculpture and architecture, the one that never finished their father, and therefore required additional facilities.
This house happened to be in a more relaxed style, tending to classicism.

the building was very difficult fate. In Soviet times, the building passed from hand to hand, and since 1991 has generally been abandoned. In 1991 it settled the homeless, and for two years lived there, burning in the fireplace, all that could burn. And in 1993, it became clear that the house was built by Fyodor Shekhtel and that he lived here. The building began to slowly restore. The complete restoration was only in 2016, after which the house appeared in all its glory.

The Mansion Of Savva Morozov.

In 1893 Schechtel received the order, which became a turning point in his life. The famous patron Savva Morozov, with whom Shekhtel tied true friendship, ordered the architect, the construction of a magnificent mansion for his young wife, he saw a Gothic castle. Morozov himself was quite unpretentious and even austere, and Zinaida Grigoryevna, regardless of her husband"s money, had been exclusively a lavish lifestyle. New Morozovs " house was designed to impress the capital. Since the construction of the mansion on Spiridonovka is not limited to any financial limits, many referred to him only as the" dance of millions".

Mansion really came out great, and became a real decoration of Moscow.
Schechtel was developed absolutely all the details interior exterior: grille, lights, gates, locks, handles, etc.

Inside the house was truly magnificent: to the design of its lush interiors Shekhtel was attracted to the then young artist Mikhail Vrubel, with whom they were familiar.

Another great creation Schechtel — Association of skorobogaty A. Levenson. This building was erected in 1900 in Trekhprudny lane. It is considered one of the most beautiful houses in Moscow.

In 2016, the building skorobogaty of Levenson was opened after 4-х years of restoration.

Mansion of Ryabushinsky is another unique building, designed by Schechtel.

One of the symbols of the Ryabushinsky mansion is a marble staircase, made in the form of waves

Mansion of Ryabushinsky is a classic example of modernity, the author c the unprecedented courage ignores all the traditions of classicism, symmetry and clarity of form. However, the courage and innovation Schechtel is appreciated by all:

" Самый nasty sample decadent style. There is not one honest line, nor a straight angle. All spakowane obscene squiggles incompetent arrogant krivulya. Stairs, ceilings, window - everywhere this vile vulgarity", @- wrote K. Chukovsky about this building.

Another masterpiece Schechtel, on which he worked free of charge is the well– known Moscow art theatre them. A. P. Chekhov, is located in Kamergersky lane. Construction cost assumed Savva Morozov, a famous Russian patron.

Conceived restructuring rather featureless at the time of the building according to the plan of Fyodor Osipovich was subordinated to the creation of a special theatre in the emotionally intense atmosphere. It was taken into account every detail – size of the rooms, color of walls, floor, furniture, lamps, door handles. All this Fyodor Osipovich designed personally. As well as a completely unique auditorium with a revolving stage. And as a final touch, the stroke of a pen he drew a Seagull, which to this day is the emblem of the theater.

Yaroslavsky station.

The global project and the ultimate creativity of Fyodor Osipovich became the Yaroslavl station in Moscow, which was built from 1902 to 1904. The building looks like a fairy Palace.

Its interior was also luxurious, but it was before the revolution.

After the revolution, for the Schechtel family fell on hard times. The famous architect left without work, the reason was that every building in the country ceased, orders are simply not there. Building began only in 1929, with the beginning of the five-year plans, but Shekhtel until that time did not live, in 1926 he died...

In Soviet times about Shechtel, few people knew, but now the interest in his work is growing steadily.
Restaurerede created their buildings. In Moscow appeared the alley Schechtel and installed his bust near Yaroslavsky station.
