Bloom at Giverny
Theodore Robinson @- American artist and teacher, one of the first artists-импрессионистов the US in the late 1880-х years; several of his works are considered masterpieces of American impressionism.
Theodore Robinson was born 3 Jun 1852 in Irasburg, Vermont. The family then moved to Evansville, Wisconsin.
Some time studied art in Chicago. In 1874 went to new-Йорк to continue training in the National Academy of design and at the Art Students League. In 1876 Robinson went to Paris to study at École des Beaux-Arts from Carolus-Дюрана and Jean-Леона Jerome. Here he first exhibited his paintings in 1877 at the Paris salon and spent the summer of this year to Gray-сюр-Луэн. Then the artist made a trip to Venice and Bologna, and returned to the United States in 1879. In 1884 Robinson returned to France where he spent eight years, occasionally visiting America. He lived in Giverny, where he met and later was friends with Claude Monet. Here in Giverny, Theodore Robinson wrote some of his best work. In 1892 Robinson returned to the United States.
Theodore Robinson"s Work are in the collections of major museums, including the Metropolitan-музей in new-Йорке, Gallery of art the Corcoran in Washington, the art Institute of Chicago.
