ARTIST BOROVIKOVSKY, VLADIMIR LUKICH (1757-1826)

ACADEMIC REALISM (45 paintings @page - 2)

Vladimir Borovikovsky was born on 24 Jul 1757 in the small Ukrainian town of Mirgorod. His father, Luka Borovik, belonged to the local Cossack Sergeant, owned a house and two small plots of land. Following the tradition, four of his sons served in Mirgorod regiment, but Vladimir to the rank of Lieutenant he retired and devoted himself to painting.
