ACADEMIC REALISM

Zaryanko Sergey Konstantinovich was born on 24 Sep 1818 in the town of Lyady, now Dubrovno district, Vitebsk region of Belarus was Brought up in 3-й gymnasium St.-Петербурга and from childhood showed artistic ability. Elementary knowledge of their duty was the painter V. M. Avrorina, not possessed of extraordinary ability. In the future, A. G. Venetsianov helped to determine Zaryanko in an auditor student of the Imperial Academy of arts, and became himself the head of his painting. His specialty Zaryanko was elected first perspective painting. Having continuation of the academic year, two silver medals, small and large, he was honored in 1838, the title of class artist, and then continued to write mostly promising. In 1843, for the picture" Внутренность Sea Nicholas Cathedral" has received the title of academician.

On the academic exhibition in 1849 was exhibited two magnificent portraits of his work, General Lemovskogo and singer O. Petrova, immediately brought him notoriety in public. In 1850, for the portraits of count F. P. Tolstoy and captain Khvostov Academy awarded him the title of Professor.

In 1856 he began working at the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture by the inspector and a senior Professor of painting. These posts Zaryanko held until death. As a mentor at the Moscow school of painting and sculpture, Zaryanko contributed much to the development of young artists, some of which reached the then honourable fame, for example: V. G. Perov, I. M. Pryanishnikov, V. Pukirev, V. I. Sherwood, and L. F. Jodaiko. From the perspective of the paintings Zaryanko exemplary in its kind can be considered, but the view of St. Nicholas Cathedral,
brought him a degree of the academician, the types of the throne hall in the Winter Palace

and the hall of the Imperial school of jurisprudence, with portraits of professors and pupils of this institution.
