THE ARTIST SERGEY ARSENIEVICH VINOGRADOV

Sergey Arsenievich Vinogradov was born on 1 (13) July 1869, in the village of Great Salt Kostroma province in the family priest. In 1880—1889 years he studied at the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture and attended classes at E. S. Sorokin, V. E. Makovsky, V. D. Polenov, I. Pryanishnikov. In 1888 he received the title of class artist, joined the Association of traveling art exhibitions. In the late 1880-х — early 1890-х years he served as a lecturer at the School of fine arts artist-архитектора A. O. Gunst. In 1898—1913, he taught at the Stroganov school. In 1916 he was elected a full member of the Academy of fine arts.
Vinogradov began as a genre painter. Many wrote to the then fashionable theme of peasant life.
