"Forgotten Treasures of Impressionism" put up for auction
At the auction a collection of paintings by the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, which belonged to the former president and head of the board of directors of Eastman Kodak Albert Chapman (Albert K. Chapman), who died in 1984. Reported ArtDaily.
It is noted that few people knew about the existence of the Chapman collection: most of the paintings were bought before 1960, and the collector did not sell almost anything from its collection. In addition, neither Chapman nor his heirs shall not give work to the exhibition. Auctioneer John Coker (John Coker) has christened the collection of "lost and forgotten treasures" Impressionist and Post-Impressionism.
Total traded exhibited 65 paintings, with the collection going to sell out completely. Among the lots - the work of Pierre Bonnard, Alfred Sisley, Camille Pissarro, Childe Hassam Frederick and 30 other artists who worked from 1870 to 1950. Auction Gallery John Coker is scheduled for September 15.
