Restorer discovered an unknown work by Holbein

American art restorer named Marco Grassi received for clearing affected by the time the picture by an unknown artist XVI century and found that it is written in about 1530 portrait of Erasmus by Hans Holbein brush junior.

Rotterdam Museum Boijmans - van Beuningen already included a picture in the exhibition "Portraits of Erasmus," reports The Art Newspaper. Ibid 23 January 2009 will be a symposium of specialists on Holbein, who will try to come to a consensus regarding the identity of the painting.
The newly discovered portrait of Erasmus has similarities to counterparts, now stored in Basel and London, as well as some differences that may indicate that the painting was a disciple or follower of Holbein.
