Moldovan artist Michael Munzhiu (Mihai Mungiu) recently became
attract the attention of discerning collectors of different countries,
including Russia. Unusually gifted artist, he boldly tried
themselves in different techniques and styles - from primitive folk art
through traditional realism to expressionistic aspirations
characteristic of the XX century. And always at the same time remained subtle lyricism,
singer of nature, whose low voice was always heard, and distinguish among other
votes in the general chorus of paintings of our time. After some quiet words spoken
sometimes sound louder voice and amplified many times repeated echoes
thunderously - and empty! - Appeal. Michael Munzhiu as an artist was lucky to have
his face, his voice, an interesting personality, not lost
among an abundance of beautiful products precisely because of its sincerity
and artistic credibility with a constant, lifelong learning
nature and constant work with nature. Landscapes of Moldova and the Crimea are
the most attractive part of the established M. Munzhiu picturesque wealth.
Present in his work, however, and other genres - still life (flowers
and fruits), nude, but they are not determinative. Munzhiu
wrote the most colorful state of the earth - spring flowering meadows and trees,
autumn decorations of nature, the sea at different times of day, rural types
with the harvest, summer days imperceptible pastoral way of life in Moldova or
ringing hot luxurious noon Gurzuf. He finds beauty and gloomy
winter days, cloudy bad weather in the autumn.
M. Munzhiu was born December 4, 1950 in Moldova. In the 1966-1970 period. studied
in Republican Art College. Repin, and in 1974-1979 gg. --
at the Art Institute in Kiev, at the Department of Art History and Theory
(teachers Platon Beletsky, Lyudmila Milyaeva, Yuri Aseev,
Victor Samoilovich, Dina Kolesnikova). After graduation he worked
the Union of Artists of Ukraine as an art critic, was
and published catalogs of various artists, published articles in journals.
He took lessons in painting at Michael Chuchalina. Member Republican
exhibitions since 1986 Member of the Union of Artists since 1989 in 1992, returned from
Kiev in Moldavia, where it is then for 13 years has worked closely with prominent
Bessarabian master paintings and art critic Ada Mironovna Zevin.
Solo exhibitions were held in 1991, 1997, 2001-2002, 2004, 2004-2005, 2005,
2007, 2008. M. Munzhiu works are in museums in Ukraine, Moldova, Romania,
as well as in private collections in Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, Russia, Israel,
South Korea, USA, Denmark, Germany, Portugal, Turkey, Finland, Former Yugoslavia.
In 2010, the anniversary of the artist will be his most personal
exhibition in Kishinev. His name, among other names of artists Bessarabians,
inevitably go down in history of European painting of the second half of XX - beginning
XXI centuries.
