Philip Alexis de Laszlo ( 1869 Budapest @- 1937. London) English painter-портретист of Hungarian origin, famous for numerous portraits of the European aristocracy and members of the monarchist names.
He was the eldest son of a Jewish weaver. In 1891, his family changed his name to László Laub. In his younger years he engaged in photography, he began to study painting, enrolling in the Hungarian National Academy of arts, where his teachers were famous artists.
Later continued her studies in Munich and Paris.
In 1907 moved to England. London remained his home until the end of life, although the artist very much traveling around the world to fulfill orders.
Received great numbers of honors and awards. In 1909 he became an honorary member of the Royal Victorian order. In 1912, received a knighthood from the Emperor of Austria and king of Hungary.
