In the distant 1799, near the small Egyptian town of Rosetta, located near Alexandria, was discovered a stone with engraved on it the texts written in different languages.
Soon, this discovery will generate a real sensation. A transcript of the texts literally change the entire course of known history, making possible the interpretation of Egyptian hieroglyphics for the first time in thousands of years since the loss of one of the oldest languages.
In 1798, during the Egyptian company of Napoleon, science building, known as the" Commission on science and arts", accompanied by the French expeditionary army entered Egypt.
15 July 1799, French soldiers occupied fortifications of Fort Julien, a couple of miles to the North-востоку from the Egyptian port city of Rosetta. On the same day, Lieutenant Pierre-Франсуа Bouchard, at the base of the Fort was discovered a stone slab with mysterious inscriptions.

there have been numerous attempts to decipher ancient symbols, but the main difficulty was the lack of any text written on ancient Egyptian and any other of the known languages at the same time.
But the Rosetta stone contained the fragment is written in ancient Greek that the result of a considerable effort allowed us to translate hieroglyphics.

According to the assumption of Egyptologists, stone was a big enough fragment of the stele. But in the course of searches undertaken near the place of occurrence of the largest of the fragments, other parts have not been found.
