William Stott was born in Oldham, UK in 1857. He was the son of a mill owner. He studied at Olemskoi school of art and Manchester school of art, and in 1878 he moved to Paris to study with French artist Jean-Леона Jerome. In the fall of 1879 he became a student of National High school of fine Arts in Paris.
the Artist evolved from classicism in the spirit of the paintings of Jean-Леона Jerome to air plein-air naturalism of Jules bastien-Лепажа and emotion Jean-Франсуа mill. For most of his career, Stott has created landscapes, but in 1886, the years in his work began to appear and paintings on mythological and allegorical themes.
