And the name of this femme fatale – Italia Poletyka.

all publications devoted to this duel, Idalia Poletyka mentioned in number involved in the tragic outcome of a love triangle Pushkin Goncharova – Dantes. Idaliou the Poletyka called second beauty of St. Petersburg – the championship is still usually give Natalia Goncharova. Idalia was smart, sharp tongue and cunning behind her stretched a trail of scandals, intrigues and gossip. Said that her account was not one duel, arranged so that the culprit remained in the shadows. From-за she even earned the nickname" Madame Intrigue". Her husband was Alexander Poletyka – Colonel, whose gentle disposition was called" Ladybird". Married Idalia came not out of love, and her novels were known by all. One of the choices was Peter Lansky – the man who in the future will become the second husband of Natalya Goncharova.

at First, their relationship with the poet was friendly, but then suddenly Idalia began to show people his open dislike of him, calling him a" sonneteer" About the causes of this hatred were saying different things. For example, there is a theory that her anger was caused by the fact that one day Pushkin, who was riding in the carriage with her and my wife, jokingly grabbed Idalia over the knee. However, this could be the reason for irritation, but not hatred.

whatever it was, it really gave the date of the wife of the poet Dantes. Italia invited a friend to her house, and she went under what-то pretext. In the living room Goncharov met Dantes immediately started passionate explanation. He threatened to shoot himself right in front of her, if she doesn"t reciprocate. Natalie saved by the fact that at this moment in the living room ran into the daughter of Idalie, and behind her came the governess and the wife of the poet, taking advantage of the moment, hastily left the house Poletyka. That evening Natalie told him about the date her husband. According to some researchers, Idalia personally participated in the drafting of slanderous anonymous letters of acceptance Pushkin in the order of the cuckolds, which served as the pretext for the duel. A further outcome is known to all. After the poet"s death Poletyka redirected his anger at his wife, especially after 7 years later her ex-lover married to Natalia Goncharova, taking care of her and her" brood" as contemptuously called her children Italia.

However, there is another version of the incident. In early 1836 Dantes carefully concealed the name of his lady, protecting her reputation. In a letter to his adoptive father, Baron Gekkern, he admitted:" I still love you like mad... her name you don"t call, because the letter may not reach, but remember the most adorable creature in Petersburg, and you"ll know who it is. And worse of all in my position that she loved me too, to see us so far impossible, because her husband is ugly is jealous...". Some researchers have suggested that in fact, in this letter it is not about the poet"s wife, and about... Idalie the Poletyka.

Supporters of this version consider: first novel about secret Dantes and Poletyka, no one knew, but later he began to guess. So, A. Smirnova-Россет wrote:" Dantes has never been in love with Natalie@the semicolon he found it stupid and boring@the semicolon, he was in love with Idalia, and they met at Natalie...". That is, Goncharova was a cover for the true interests of the Dantes. And after the poet"s death he was demoted and expelled from the country, and this became the true reason of hatred to Poletyka Goncharova. Sister Natalie Catherine, who became Mrs. Dantes, puzzled wrote to him:" Idalia came in last minute with her husband, she is in despair, that will not forgive you... She could not be comforted, crying like crazy". The cause of these tears should have been well understood him. She kept the bracelet given to her before leaving Dantes, until the end of days.
