New album M. Grecu

Among the most successful and interesting publications on the art of
year include the luxuriously released album of the outstanding painter
Michael Grecu (1916-1998):
Michael Greco. Painting. On the visible and hidden. - M., 2009. - 192 pp. - (The names
art).
Luxury is not a gold-embossed (as usually understood luxury ignorant in book
case; hasten to reassure the readers - a blocking no!), no jacket
and the thickness of the coated paper, and in the content, unexpectedly nominating painter in
series of interesting philosophers of art of XX century. For the first time in the album presented
prose of the artist - amazing, relentless, profound, uncompromising --
about themselves, about their understanding of art, other artists and writers
XIX and XX centuries, and their significance for contemporary art. And the artist's paintings
at the same time serve as illustrations of his thoughts.
Album larger format (34h28 cm) was prepared by Margarita
Karlova of materials provided by her daughter and son in law of the artist.
Albums maestro came out before (Mihai Grecu /L. Toma. - Chişinãu,
1997. - 100 p., edition under the auspices of the Institute of History and Theory of Art
Academy of Sciences of Moldova; Toma L. Mihail Grecu. - Chişinãu, [2006]. --
112 p., in a series of "master Bessarabsky XX century"), but this
differs from previous ones not only high-quality printing
reproductions. It first published the diaries of the artist's
1957-1990 years. The publication was timed to IV Forum Arts and Science
intellectuals of the CIS member states in Chisinau in October 2009 and came under
auspices of the International Confederation of Unions of Artists and the Interstate Fund
humanitarian cooperation of CIS countries.
In addition to the diaries of the book includes an interview with the artist, letter to
him biographical chronicle and part of the landscape itself. Posted as
Index of names, but it is incomplete and for some reason has no references to the relevant
pages (an annoying omission!).
It should be noted the excellent work of the artist editions - Dmitry Chernogaeva,
whose layout and overall artistic conception of the book is largely provided
its success.
Among the correspondents of the Greeks art NA Nedoshivina,
artist VNKorbakov, director of GRM VA Pushkarev, art BM Bernstein,
K. Noyka Romanian philosopher, critic IG Sapego. The name Korbakova linked
interesting and characteristic fact. In April 1973 in the Yaroslavl Art
museum was to be held solo exhibition planned
works of M. Grecu. When he arrived and unpacked boxes in the museum with pictures
that museum workers were horrified. They felt that painting Grecu
does not match the lofty principles of socialist realism in the Soviet
art and categorically refused to exhibit his paintings. The artist
dropped his hands. Return to Chisinau? Become an object of ridicule? And this after
successful solo exhibitions in Vilnius and Moscow (1971), dating from
V. Popkov and N. Andronov, assigning the title "Honored
Arts MSSR ", personal exhibition in Yerevan, approved by M. Saryan (1972),
and the first prize at an art exhibition in Plovdiv (Bulgaria)!
Fortunately, accidentally or not, but at this time in the museum is the chairman
North Branch of the USSR Union of Artists of Vologda artist VNKorbakov. Inspecting
Work Grecu, he immediately offered to all the pictures in the Vologda and outside
plan to do an exhibition in Vologda museum. The exhibition there was opened,
was a success, the artist was saved, tied his longstanding friendship with
Korbakovym, and Yaroslavl Art Museum ever covered himself with shame.
The book placed a large number of documentary photographs.
Many works are reproduced in the family of the artist and the last
has not been published.
