And so began the construction of one of the greatest monuments of history and culture, when in 1948 the first blast of dynamite was cut off only a small part of a rock weighing 10 tons. From the beginning the tools of the sculptor was limited: Silkowski didn"t want to accept what-либо financial assistance from the state and worked on the project all alone. On the implementation of the project the master had spent over five million dollars, which were collected throughout life.
