G. Mattingly fundamental work devoted to coins of the Roman Empire. In the West, this book has long been the foundation of ancient numismatics. The book is divided into three main historical periods: the Republic, the early Empire and late Empire and its design allows you to quickly find any interested reader section. The book has a lot of illustrations and a separate table with coins. The publication is intended for coin collectors, historians, museum curators, collectors, and anyone interested in the history of Ancient Rome.
Here is the second revised and enlarged edition of "Coins of Rome." It takes into account all noticed and corrected errors of the first edition. In addition, in the new book added a lot of illustrations as on coins, and on the history of ancient Rome as a whole. And most importantly, now has a full-color book, unlike the first black-and-white edition, which allowed her to have a much more colorful and interesting for the reader.
